(Minghui.org) I grew up in a rural village in Henan Province. As a child, I was brainwashed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I did not have any spiritual or religious beliefs, and I was not familiar with China’s traditional culture.
My mother has some rudimentary spiritual beliefs. My father is a kind person, but he is deeply indoctrinated with the atheist ideology of communism.
I went to Shenzhen to find a job at age 18. I wanted to earn enough money so that I could travel to Hong Kong and the United States.
I learned to bypass the government's firewall in March 2012, and I began reading outside reports. I was shocked by the accounts of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, and I realized that the government has been issuing lies and propaganda.
By reading aricles about Falun Gong, I gained the best impression of practitioners and a deep understanding of the persecution. Additionally, my cousin and her husband are practitioners who have survived labor camps. During a visit with my cousin in November 2012, I asked her to help me and four family members quit the Communist Party, and she showed us how.
I traveled to Hong Kong in December 2013. At a tourist site, a practitioner offered to help me to quit the Party. She was happy to hear that I had quit a year earlier. I spent about a half hour talking to some practitioners from Taiwan. A young lady gave me a copy of Zhuan Falun. She asked me to read through the book as soon as possible and advised me to regularly read it. She also taught me the Falun Gong exercises.
The above is how I became a Dafa practitioner in Hong Kong. After returning to Shenzhen, I continued to study the exercises by following Master’s demonstration in his exercise video. After I finished reading Zhuan Falun for the fourth time, I began to listen to at least two of Master’s lectures each day. I could feel that my understanding of the Fa was quickly deepening.
My relationships improved, and I also relinquished some of my jealousy and competitive mentality. My health has also become better. I have not begun to send forth righteous thoughts yet, although I have been taught how. I still have fear when telling others about the truth, so I only clarify the truth to close friends.
Master said:
“When it is difficult to endure, try to endure it. When it looks impossible and is said to be impossible, give it a try and see if it is possible.” (Lecture Nine in Zhuan Falun)
When I encounter difficulties, Master’s teachings provide me inspiration to overcome and improve. I will continue to study the Fa, and soon I will be doing the three things.
