(Minghui.org) Another practitioner and I went to a remote mountainous region to tell the people there that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners and to advise them to withdraw from the Party and its affiliated organizations. It was the first time we'd ever taken on such a task.
Encouraging Encounter
The road in this region is winding and the slopes are steep. There are only a few houses in the relatively flat areas scattered over a wide region. At first we were afraid to speak directly to people. We waited until no one was around before we put pamphlets about Falun Dafa on people's doorsteps.
A young man at one house heard us and came out. “What are you doing here?” he asked. At that moment I realized that we were there to tell people about Falun Dafa, and we had nothing to fear. I replied, “We are here to bring you blessings and safety.” I handed him a pamphlet and an amulet.
Then I explained to him why he should withdraw from the evil CCP, which is responsible for the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. He understood that being associated with an evil organization would bring harm to him and his family. He agreed and asked for two more amulets.
We understood that Teacher had arranged for this young man to encourage us. It was not easy to come to this mountainous region, and we should speak to these people directly.
“Good People Like You Are Rare”
After visiting with several families, we came to a house where an elderly man showed up to ask us what we were doing. We asked for a glass of water and then told him about the persecution of Falun Dafa.
He did not believe us and thought we were trying to deceive him. He was ready to kick us out, but we were patient and gave him more details and evidence. He finally understood us and agreed to withdraw from the CCP.
Not only that, he took an amulet and wanted us to stay for dinner, saying, “I am over 80 years old and have not seen people so determined to help others as you are. How do I thank you?” I replied, “You should thank our Teacher.” As we were leaving, he asked for another amulet for his neighbor.
This Is What People Are Waiting For
At the home of one of the elderly man's neighbors, a young man showed up and asked what we wanted. When I asked for a glass of water, he got very angry and said, “You just had water, and now you ask for more. I can't help you. Please leave now.”
I knew I had said the wrong thing and tried to explain to him that we had come to help people to withdraw from the evil CCP, but he would not listen. I said in my mind, “Teacher! Please help us. It is not easy to get to this place. I don't want to miss the opportunity to rescue people.”
At this point, a woman about 50 years old showed up and said to her son, “Go get one yuan for them.” We quickly replied, “Please don't misunderstand us. We are not asking for money. We want to bring you blessings and safety. We want you to know the real story about the persecution of Falun Dafa, and believe that you will be blessed if you take an upright stance against the persecution.”
Gradually, she understood why it was important to quit the CCP and said, “It is difficult to believe that the world has good people like you two, who are spending your own time and money to help others. You must stay for dinner before you leave. How can we keep in touch?”
I replied, “Our meeting in the future is determined by our predestined relationship. We want to thank you for inviting us to dinner, but we need to move on to tell others about Falun Dafa.” She walked out with us for quite a distance and was sad to see us leave. We knew she had waited a very long time for our message.
“We Don't Blame You for Misunderstanding”
At another village we explained to a group of people why they should quit the CCP. One woman said, “I don't believe you. Leave us alone.” When we looked around, we saw another woman sitting by a wall with crutches next to her. We walked over to speak to her, and she was very receptive, taking all the materials we gave her about Falun Dafa and an amulet.
People saw that we were not asking for money, so they came for DVDs, pamphlets, and amulets. The woman who had been suspicious of us was still around. I walked over to her and handed her an amulet, saying, “We don't blame you for misunderstanding.” She was happy to take it and said, “Sorry, I thought you were swindlers.”
“You Must Be Bodhisattvas from Heaven”
While walking on a narrow path outside a village, we saw an elderly woman sitting by a stream. We told her about quitting the CCP. She was very receptive. When we gave her an amulet, she said, “I have no money.” We told her that it was not for sale.
She was so moved that she wanted to kneel down to thank us. We said, “You may do so only to our Teacher after you return home.”
She said, “You must be Bodhisattvas from heaven. I am 92 years old and have never seen anyone as unselfish as you. My daughter-in-law has been paralyzed for three years. She really needs an amulet.” We gave her more pamphlets and amulets before we left. We were pleased that a 92-year-old woman had the opportunity to learn about Falun Dafa.
