(Minghui.org) My younger sister was dying. Her health was restored after watching Teacher Li Hongzhi's lectures on Falun Dafa. After witnessing her recovery, I began to practice Falun Dafa.
My sister was 18 years old in 1996, healthy, pretty, smart and capable. She suddenly developed tuberculous pneumothorax [complication of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB)], that was incorrectly diagnosed as pneumonia by the local hospital.
Although she received daily injections, her right lung developed a pus-forming infection one week later. She was put on oxygen and her life was in danger. The hospital surgically removed the pus through her armpit.
My sister stayed in the hospital for three months. She became disabled and her back was bent. She had to clean her armpit with medication every day because the pus kept accumulating. My elderly parents took care of her. Her condition deteriorated.
The hospital recommended surgery to clean her organs but they couldn't guarantee the success of the surgery, which could potentially result in paralysis. The hospital stopped prescribing medicine.
The fee for the surgery was 50,000 yuan and my family couldn't afford it. My sister was dying. My father's hair turned grey overnight and my mother was suicidal.
On the hottest day of the summer, my father brought my sister from their home in the country to where I resided with my wife in the city. My father returned home to prepare her funeral clothes.
That day I heard that Falun Dafa could cure illness. There were Dafa practitioners who exercised in the park, so I went to find them. I realized that my sister wasn't capable of doing the exercises, but the coordinator said that the video lectures of the founder, Teacher Li, were being played free of charge the next day at a local school.
I carried my sister on my bike the next day to watch the videos. She was able to walk home energetically after the first lecture! That afternoon she rode a bicycle to listen to the remaining lectures. After listening to the nine lectures, her health was completely restored.
I did not understand what a Buddha was but I felt I understood the meaning of Buddhahood after witnessing the miracle of my sister's cure. Many of my family members and I started to practice Falun Dafa. My mother's brain disease disappeared afterwards.
I have been arrested many times by the Chinese Communist Party since they started persecuting Falun Dafa in 1999. My home was broken into and I became homeless. However, I always felt protected by Teacher Li.
