(Minghui.org) “The police won't let me medicate you so that I can treat your fractured arm. I used gauze to bandage your arm and put on a cast. You must be extra careful, so the bone fragments won't damage blood vessels or nerves,” said Dr. Cao as he put my arm in a sling. Two police officers and the hospital security watched me closely while this procedure was done.

Beaten During Interrogation

I went to Tiananmen Square to talk to tourists about Falun Gong. I told them about the benefits I derived from the practice and that the media's portrayal of Falun Gong is false.

Suddenly, someone grabbed me from behind. It was a police officer who arrested and took me to a police station.

Several officers interrogated me, but I refused to answer questions or cooperate, nor did I allow a body search or have my picture taken. I knew full well that this information could be used to threaten my family and get me fired.

One officer kicked me in the knees and calf, and I fell. Several officers surrounded me, pulled me up by my hair and beat me. Clumps of my hair were pulled out and scattered on the ground.

Transferred to the Tangshan Liaison Office in Beijing

The police guessed from my accent that I was from Tangshan. I was handcuffed and transferred to the Tangshan Liaison Office in Beijing. At the entryway, I shouted “Falun Dafa is good!” After I did that, an officer hit my head four or five times.

A man who claimed to be deputy director of the Tangshan Police Department removed my handcuffs and interrogated me. I refused to talk to him, so he threatened to use bigger handcuffs. I said, “Falun Gong is good. The government should not persecute Falun Gong. It is a crime to beat practitioners. I will sue in court.”

In response, several police pinned me to the floor and held my head and arms down, while others hit me. They didn't stop until they broke my left arm.

The deputy director said they would take me to the best hospital in Beijing, but instead three officers escorted me to the Tangshan City Orthopedic Hospital of Tangshan, which was nearly 100 miles away.

Dr. Cao took care of my fractured arm. He said, “The police won't let me medicate you so that I can treat your broken arm. I used gauze to bandage your arm and put on a cast. You must be extra careful, so that the bone fragments won't damage blood vessels or nerves.”

Escape Through the Backdoor

I was taken to a ward where I told the patients about the police beating and how they fractured my arm. I used this opportunity to tell people the facts about Falun Gong and what happened at Tiananmen Square. People were very empathetic and told me that I could escape through a backdoor.

Several officers, nurses and doctors stopped by the next morning and tried in vain to get my name and other information. I only talked about Falun Gong.

I went to the hospital store and bought a towel in the afternoon. At the end of a long hallway, I stumbled upon a side door that led to the backdoor of the hospital. I didn't hesitate and walked out. As there was no police in sight, I escaped and went home.
