(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 1 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, at least 5 practitioners were illegally arrested, 3 practitioners were detained for months, and 4 practitioners were tried.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Guifen Sent to Prison
Ms. Wu Guifen from Pulandian City was illegally sentenced to 4 years in prison. She was sent to Liaoning Province Women's Prison twice but was rejected both times because she failed the physical exam. The third time she was sent there, on January 27, 2015, the prison authorities accepted her.
2. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
While distributing and posting information about Falun Gong on the morning of February 3, 2015, Mr. Zheng Shili and Mr. Huang Yizhao from No.4 Village, Yongsheng Township, were arrested. Mr. Zheng's home was then ransacked.
Participating in the arrest were officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Hedong Police Department.
Mr. Zheng Deliang, son of Mr. Zheng Shili, was also arrested when he returned home.
Father and son are being held in the Yongxing Detention Center. Mr. Huang was released the next day.

3. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
While talking to people about Falun Gong at the vegetable wholesale market in Wenguan Town on the morning of February 4, 2015, Ms. Zhang Fuzhen and Ms. Shan Qingyun from Luanjiadian Village were arrested. Officers from the Wenquan Police Station made the arrest.
Ms. Zhang was released that same day, but Ms. Shan was detained for two weeks.
4. [Chongqing] Three Practitioners Tried
Dazu District Court tried three local residents on February 4, 2015. Mr. Chen Qingbin, Mr. Li Liangduan, and Mr. Lu Qingming were all arrested last September for distributing literature exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. Their trial ended without a verdict, and all three remain in detention.

5. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zheng Shuyun Appealed Her 3-Year Sentence, Hearing Scheduled
Following her trial in the Lianshan District Court on December 5, 2014, Ms. Zheng Shuyun from Huludao City was sentenced to 3 years. She appealed the verdict, and Huludao City Intermediate Court scheduled a hearing for February 10th of this year. Details of the hearing remain unknown.

6. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Chen Xianmei Tried
Ms. Chen Xianmei from Kaifeng City was tried on January 12 for distributing literature exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. The judges had no reply when her lawyer, Ma Lianshun, pled not-guilty on her behalf, but they refused to acquit her and announced she would be tried again at a later date. Ms. Chen has been held in the Kaifeng City Detention Center since her arrest last October.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Jiguo Detained for Four Months
While shopping and talking to people about Falun Gong on October 15th of last year, Ms. Zhang Jiguo was arrested. She has been detained ever since.
Her case was first submitted to the No. 1 Procuratorate on January 19, 2015, and then transferred to the Fangshan District Procuratorate on February 2.
She met her lawyer once after she was transferred to the Beijing No.1 Detention Center from the Fangshan District Detention Center on November 19, 2014.
She was transferred back to the Fangshan District Detention Center on February 4, 2015.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Two Practitioners Detained for Three Months
Arrested last November, Ms. Ding Shuhui and Ms. Yu Caihua from Harbin City have been detained for three months. Their arrests were officially approved on December 10, 2014.
Acheng District Police Department officials submitted the practitioners' cases to the Acheng District Procuratorate on December 16, 2014, and again in mid January 2015. The procuratorate returned the cases to the police department on both occasions.
Ms. Ding and Ms. Yu remain in the Harbin City No.2 Detention Center.
