(Minghui.org) Mr. Ye Jianguo was sentenced to 11 1/2 years in prison in the Jianyang District Court on October 18, 2013, because of his belief in Falun Gong. He filed an appeal, which the Ziyang Intermediate Court rejected.
In Jiazhou Prison, the guards have tried to brainwash him by forcing him to listen to and read materials defaming Falun Gong. They order him to write statements to denounce his belief.
When Mr. Ye was held in Ward 9, inmates appointed to monitor him pretended to be nice initially. But when he refused to follow their orders, they threatened and tortured him.
He was forced to stand at attention from morning till dusk and kicked if he made the slightest move. He now has difficulty walking.
They forced him to stand out in the freezing cold after removing his clothes, and he got severe frostbite.
He was later moved to Ward 7 to do slave labor.
Deprived of Sleep, Shackled, and Hung Up in a Brainwashing Facility
Mr. Ye is from Longchang County, Sichuan Province. He had been arrested at least five times since 1999.
He was arrested by officers from the Longchang County 610 Office in May 2005. They shackled Mr. Ye's legs and hands for five months in the county detention center before sending him to a forced labor camp for 5 years.
On August 25, 2009, officers from the Longchang Domestic Security Division and agents from the Dayanggou Community Committee ransacked his home. They took him to the Neijiang Brainwashing Center, where he was persecuted for two months.
He was arrested and taken to the Daziran Brainwashing Center in Neijing City on October 30, 2010, but he managed to escape two weeks later.
He was arrested by Jiangyou Domestic Security Division officers on July 4, 2011. He developed a serious heart condition as a result of the persecution and was transported to Jiangyou City People's Hospital. They took him to the Neijiang Brainwashing Center when his health improved a few days later.
He was arrested again in July 2012. They took him to the Erehu Brainwashing Center. They deprived him of sleep for days and shackled and hung him.
