(Minghui.org) Many people still do not understand Falun Dafa and the persecution. Some of them are journalists who have written negative things about Dafa. Some are elected officials who are too close to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Unfortunately, as I see it, many of these people cannot be saved because we practitioners resent them for being deceived. Rather than feeling compassion for the lamentable position these people find themselves in, many times practitioners say, “Oh that person is awful.” Or, “I don’t want to go to that politician, he is bad.”

This thinking seems to be fairly common. It is almost as if we only want to use people who are journalists or elected officials to save others, as if they are instruments to achieve certain ends. This is not compassion; it is doing Dafa things with the mindset of everyday people.

The other day, I was having lunch with fellow practitioners, and a very high-ranking elected official came up in our conversation. Many people, including myself, have said bad things about him in the past because he made some very silly statements about admiring the CCP.

This person now has an impact over a huge population, and his position on Dafa could affect the fortunes of millions of people. If too many practitioners have bad feelings towards him, could anything be bigger interference to saving him? Couldn’t this sentimentality even affect all those people he impacts? Isn't this selfishness based on the idea that “If you treat me kindly, I will be kind to you?”

This is not the compassion of an enlightened being. Master tells us:

“When people show the appropriate respect and reverence toward Dafa as it manifests here in this world, they, their race, or their nation will enjoy blessings or honor.” (“On Dafa”)

How can it be possible for other people to show the appropriate respect and reverence towards Dafa if we can’t even do this ourselves? When we take Master’s sacred trust and pick and choose from his painstaking arrangements based on how we feel about someone, we are doing a disservice to Dafa. Aren’t we to have the great compassion of enlightened beings? Isn’t it irrelevant how someone treats us, or what they say about us?

If practitioners in China can save even the police who beat and torture them, can’t overseas practitioners save these unfortunate people who don’t know Dafa well and have fallen victim to the CCP’s deception?
