Arrest and Sentencing of Five Inner Mongolia Falun Gong Practitioners

(Minghui.org) Five Falun Gong practitioners from Horqin Right Front Banner, Hinggan League, Inner Mongolia, were sentenced on October 15, 2015,

Zong Tingxuan was sentenced to six years, and Mr. Fang Qingchang four years. Ms. Zhao Xiaorong, Cong Lanjie and Huyanlei were sentenced to a three-year prison term each.

Xie Baoyin and other members of the Horqin Domestic Security team began to arrest practitioners on November 7, 2014. They first intended to arrest Mr. Fang Qingchang's, but he was out of town. Instead, police arrested his wife, who does not practice Falun Gong, and ransacked his home. She was forced into telling them her husband's whereabouts, and he was arrested and escorted back into town.

Then, another 8 practitioners were arrested, including the sister and brother-in-law of a practitioner, although both do not practice Falun Gong.

An arrest warrant was approved to be used against Mr. Fang Qingchang, Zong Tingxuan, Ms. Zhao Xiaorong, Cong Lanjie, and Hu Yanlei, three months after the fact.

All of the detained practitioners were tortured. Mr. Fang was tied up in a bed for seven days and nights. They were only given one small bun for breakfast and dinner. Mr. Fang Qingchang and Zong Tingxuan were emaciated and very weak when they appeared in court.

Ms. Zhao Xiaorong was bailed out in June of 2015, and the court notified her of the court date in October. They asked her sister-in-law to tell her, to appear in court for an inquiry and guaranteed her safe return. However, she was arrested upon arrival and taken to a detention center on October 17, 2015.
