Practitioner in Anshan, Liaoning Province Detained For Eight Months

(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Yawen was arrested on February 12, 2015 for practicing Falun Gong. The Tiexi Procuratorate approved the arrest on March 19 and scheduled Ms. Liu's trial for October 2015.

Ms. Liu lives in Tiexi District, Anshan City, Liaoning Province. In early 2015, she mailed a copy of a lawyer's defense statement and a complaint letter accusing Liang Bing, Secretary of the Anshan Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Xie Yongfang, director of the city's 610 Office, and team leaders of the Domestic Security Division of Tiexi District.

These organizations are actively carrying out the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Since the Chinese Communist Party launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong in 1999, practitioners in China have faced arbitrary arrest, detention, imprisonment, and torture.

The Domestic Security Division intercepted Ms. Liu's letter.
