Practitioners Look Young
When I visited an employment agency in 2012, the director asked me my age. I told him that I was 49 years old, and he said that I looked as if I was in my 30s. He wondered how come I looked so young, and I told him that I practiced a form of qigong. When he asked me to be more specific, I told him that I practiced Falun Gong.
“I used to be a security guard in a post office, where two of my coworkers were Falun Gong practitioners. They were arrested last month,” he said. “They were both very kind and responsible, but I didn't expect that practicing Falun Gong could make a person look so young.”
I explained that Falun Gong cultivates both body and mind, which puts practitioners in a calm mood and that is why we look so young.
I gave him software so he could him visit blocked websites, such as Minghui, where he could find Falun Gong books and find out more about Falun Gong.
Before I left, I asked him to tell his family to recite sincerely "Falun Gong is good" and to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
He took the software and installed it on his computer.
Stubborn Old Man Will One Day Change His Mind
I worked as a housekeeper for a couple in their 80s. The husband was a retired official and a CCP member. His wife had a chronic condition as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage and could not even remember her children's names. She had a very short temper, and her husband thought that she had some sort of mental illness. They had a high turnover of housekeepers.
I told them about Falun Gong, but that man did not want to listen. However, he liked my cooking and did not want me to leave, but told me that I was not allowed to mention Falun Gong to his family.
Every day he went out to play cards after he ate, and I took the old lady out for a walk in the morning. In the afternoon I read Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Gong, to her. In time, she was able to speak clearly, her temper improved, her skin became smoother, and she had color in her cheeks. Her hearing also improved, and her gray hair turned dark. The entire family was shocked by these changes.
The stubborn old man began to wonder what was going on. He often raised questions, like, “You Falun Gong practitioners don't take medicine and regard illness as karma elimination process. Do you take medicine?”
This called for telling him about what life was like for me before I practiced Falun Gong. I told him that, at the age of 26, I suffered from a back problem that affected one of my legs. I tried acupuncture, massage, and pills, but nothing worked.
“I often thought that God was unfair to me. I was kind, hard-working, sensible, and good to my parents,” I said. “I wondered why I had to suffer so.”
I told him that, after I read Zhuan Falun in the fall of 1997, I had all the answers to my questions. I kept reading the book and did the exercises and soon I felt as good as new.
I told him so much, including that I follow the Falun Gong principles and search inward when I face troubles. After I find out what I have have done wrong and correct myself, I feel fine. Then I asked him if he thought I needed to take medicine.
We talked for a long time. In the end I told him why he should quit the CCP. He has not yet done so, but as a practitioner I will continue to talk to him, and one day I will have explained well enough for him to understand why he has to quit the CCP and that Falun Gong is good.
Practitioners Are Not Involved in Politics
My husband brought one of his friends home in the summer of 2006. After meeting me, his friend could not believe that I was his wife, because I looked so much younger. He was even more astonished when he heard that I was a few months older than my husband.
After dinner, I told him about Falun Gong. He agreed with everything I said and told me that he practices Buddhism, but his godmother practices Falun Gong.
“Falun Gong is quite good,” he said. “If Falun Gong were not involved in politics, the government would not have persecuted it.”
Instead of arguing, I played a Falun Gong informational DVD for him, which included the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and “Traveling Heaven and Earth Through Wind and Rain.”
After watching it, he said angrily, “I was almost misled by the CCP. My dad was in the army, and I trusted the CCP. I never realized that the CCP could be so vile. I must help my dead father quit the Party. I would also like to quit the Young Pioneers, a CCP affiliate.”
He understood the facts about Falun Gong and the truth about the CCP. He now will never forget that Falun Gong is not involved in politics and that practitioners only want to help people understand the truth of it all.
