(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Chunkui, 48, is a primary school teacher from Luchuan County, Guangxi Province. For practicing Falun Gong, she was sent to forced labor camps three times, her husband was detained repeatedly, and the couple was held in brainwashing facilities four times and put under long-term police surveillance.

Ms. Li has filed a criminal complaint against former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin, who ordered the violent suppression of Falun Gong and caused her tremendous suffering during the past 16 years. She mailed her complaints to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate on July 15, 2015.

Kids Traumatized, Left Without Care

Ms. Li's husband Mr. Xie was arrested on July 9, 2000 and detained for 30 days. She struggled to take care of their 7-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter.

In the early morning of February 6, 2001, the two kids were woken up when police broke into the couple's home, handcuffed Mr. Xie, and dragged him out into a police car, still in his sleepwear.

The scene frightened the two children, who kept calling out for their father and couldn't eat for the entire day. The kids asked, "The police are supposed to catch bad guys. Why are they taking away good people like daddy? Daddy is a good person, not a bad person."

When Ms. Li went to deliver daily necessities to her husband, she was also arrested. Her two children were also detained with her until a neighbor picked them up. The neighbor asked if one parent could be released to look after the kids, but his request was denied.

Police Threaten Family

Officers then ransacked the home of Mr. Xie's mother and confiscated her Falun Gong books. The elderly woman fainted when one officer said they planned to send her son and his wife to forced labor.

When the officer cuffed her hands behind her back and immobilized her on the ground, she yelled out in pain and said the officer was making her back problem worse. The officer retorted, “You can die right now, and no one would give it a second thought.”

Mr. Xie's brother was detained for 24 hours for keeping Falun Gong books.

Viciously Beaten at Police Station

On February 8, a police instructor brought out more than ten Falun Gong books they had seized from Ms. Li's home. The instructor repeatedly punched and kicked her to the ground, after which he pulled on her hair. He then kicked Ms. Li in her thighs and buttocks until he was drenched with sweat. After taking a rest, he continued the beating until his shift ended in the morning.

The next day, Ms. Li was moved to another police station without her family's knowledge and locked up with three prostitutes. During the two nights, she was not allowed to sleep, eat, or wash herself.

On the third day, she was moved to a detention center. Forty-five days later, she was sent to two years of forced labor.

Continued Brainwashing, Abuse in Labor Camp

In 2007, the couple was taken to a brainwashing facility for three months. There, the authorities tried to force them to renounce their belief in Falun Gong, threatening to send them to a forced labor camp again and dismiss their children from school.

Meanwhile, police forced Ms. Li's workplace to pay 10,000 yuan and Mr. Xie's workplace 50,000 yuan in expenses for the brainwashing.

Ms. Li was again arrested in November 2009, detained for 30 days, and sent to one and a half years of forced labor.

In the labor camp, she was locked up in solitary confinement, forced to stand on a brick for 16 hours a day, and deprived of sleep. She was allowed to use the toilet only twice a day, for two minutes each time.

She was subjected to daily brainwashing, monitored by two prisoners around the clock, and not allowed to interact with her family.

She developed hypertension symptoms, her hair turned white, and her vision declined sharply while she was held in the labor camp.

In September 2014, Ms. Li was arrested and detained for 15 days for possessing an MP3 player containing Falun Gong music.

Family and Financial Losses

Ms. Li's sisters and mother were also detained and subjected to brainwashing, as well as long-term harassment and surveillance by police. Her mother collapsed after the repeated detention of her children, developed health problems, and passed away in September 2008. Ms. Li's older brother was also threatened by agents from the 610 Office many times, and later passed away.

In addition to the physical and mental abuse, Ms. Li incurred significant financial losses as a result of the persecution over the past 16 years. Her wages were cut, her earned titles and benefits were postponed for five years, and her pay was suspended for 16 months.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
