(Minghui.org) My wife suffered from cerebral thrombosis at the age of 59. She was hospitalized twice. Because of the illness, she struggled psychologically and it was hard for her to take care of herself.
When I was 68, I had an accident. I made an error when repairing a tire, and the tire exploded. A loose steel ring batten hit my leg, which caused a comminuted fracture. After I was treated at the hospital, I could not stand straight or squat down. I needed a cane to walk. I was very depressed and even thought about suicide.
One day after the 2005 Chinese New Year, I found a brochure about Falun Dafa at the doorway of my house. I read it and found that Falun Dafa teaches people to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be good people. I saw that those with a predestined relationship can miraculously recover from illnesses. I also saw that Falun Dafa practitioners were innocently persecuted.
I felt the urge to practice Falun Dafa.
Learning to Practice
I went to a nearby village and found a practitioner to teach me the exercises. My wife also studied the Fa and practiced the exercises with me. Three months later, I could walk normally. My wife's face turned a healthy tone, and the psychological difficulty she suffered from disappeared. It was Dafa's Master, Mr. Li Hongzhi, who gave us second lives.
One afternoon in 2009, it stormed heavily. My wife and I sent righteous thoughts after dinner and then practiced the exercises. We sat on the bed and practiced the fifth exercise. A big sound of thunder suddenly crashed, which made my ears ring. It seemed my head was split open. I saw sparks everywhere in the room, but I was still clearheaded. I said to my wife, “Don't worry. We practitioners are protected by Master.”
We finished the exercise and found the ceiling cracked in one corner. Dirt covered our bed. Part of the calendar on the wall was burned by the strike of lightning. All the switches and outlets were burned, and some of them had even disappeared. The clock was on the floor.
My wife said, “I saw a large fire ball enter from the window corner, but I was not scared at that time.” I recalled Master words.
“When you say that you are going to practice cultivation, they will not let you do it, 'You want to practice cultivation and leave. When you’ve developed gong, we won’t be able to reach you or touch you.' They will not let it happen, and they will try everything to stop you from practicing cultivation. Accordingly, all kinds of methods will be used to interfere with you. They will even come to really kill you.” (“Lecture Three” in Zhuan Falun)
I said to my wife, “Cultivation is really a serious thing!”
One morning after I finished the exercises, I went out to the cattle shed. When I entered, I heard something loud fall to the ground near me. It turned out that a large, sharp stone had fallen right next to me.
I recalled what Master said:
“There are so many of these cases that they cannot be numbered. Yet no danger has occurred. Not everyone will encounter these kinds of things, but some individuals will run into them. Whether you come across them or not, I can assure you that you will not be in any danger—I can guarantee this.” (“Lecture Three” in Zhuan Falun)
It was Master who protected me again.
Another accident occurred when my wife and I rode a cattle wagon to transport corn in the fall of 2013. My wife sat on the fully loaded wagon on the way home. The road condition was not good, and the wagon turned over. My wife fell to the ground. She happened to fall on two large stones on the roadside.
One stone hit the back of her head, and the other stone hit her in the abdomen. She passed out right away, and I was worried that she may not come back to life. When she woke up, I said, “Let me use the small cart to carry you home.” But all she said was that she was okay to walk.
The next day, we still went up the mountain and did our work. We still studied the Fa and practiced the exercises.
Master said:
“We have said that good or evil comes from a person’s spontaneous thought, and the thought at that moment can bring about different consequences.” (“Lecture Four” in Zhuan Falun)
