Additional Persecution News from China – January 16, 2015 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 21 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 3 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yuzhen Arrested

Ms. Li Yuzhen from Hujia Village in Kanjia Town was reported to police and arrested for talking about Falun Gong in Dongshan Village of Shuangyang Town.

Her home was ransacked on December 22, 2014. Three officers from Kanjia Town Police Station, including the chief, broke into her house. They found 10 Falun Gong informational pamphlets and threatened Ms. Li that the items would serve as evidence for her “sabotaging law enforcement.”

Ms. Li was released after she was forced to give her signature to the police.

2. [Fu'an City, Fujian Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Ms. Lin Xiuju, Ms. Gao Su, and Ms. Huang Julan were arrested and detained from February to March 2014. Their family learned about their 3-year illegal sentences in mid-September.

Ms. Lin and Ms. Gao were sent to a brainwashing center run by the Fujian Provincial 610 Office at the end of 2014. The families found out that they would be undergoing brainwashing for 50 days and then transferred to a women's prison. Ms. Huang is still being held in the Fu'an Detention Center.

3. [Fuyu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shao Changpu Held in Gongzhuling Prison

Mr. Shao Changpu from Fuyu City was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Songyuan Court in April, 2008. He is being held in the No. 6 Ward of Gongzhuling Prison.

4. [Dawa County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Feng Xiumei Transferred to Prison

Ms. Feng Xiumei was transferred from the Panjin Detention Center to the Liaoning Dabei Women's Prison in Shenyang on January 13, 2015.

6. [Anxiang County, Hunan Province] Ms. Luo Lingzhi Forced to Leave Home

Ms. Luo Lingzhi, 72, from Baodi Community in Shenliu Town, was sentenced to three years in prison in August 2014. She escaped and left home. She now has to move frequently to avoid being arrested.

She had been sent to forced labor camps multiple times. She went to Beijing in 2000 to speak up for Falun Gong and was sent to a forced labor camp. Afterward, she was twice sent to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong.

In the camp, she was shocked with electric batons, handcuffed, assaulted, and denied sleep and restroom use. She suffered fractured vertebrae as a result of torture, leaving her hunchbacked and otherwise impaired.

Her home was also ransacked many times. Her computer, printer, and cash bills with messages about Falun Gong written on them were seized.

7. [Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Jiang Yan Facing Second Trial

Ms. Jiang Yan will be tried again on January 16, 2015.

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Wenhua Detained

Mr. Li Wenhua from Huaikou Town, Jintang County, was arrested for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in residential quarters in Longquan. He is being held in the Longquan Police Station.

9. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Dai Zhenyun Facing Trial

Mr. Dai Zhenyun from the Songshan District will be tried in the Songshan Court on January 16, 2015.

Mr. Dai was arrested by agents from the Songshan Court on December 29, 2014. He is being held in the Songshan Detention Center.

10. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Tongzhen Arrested

Ms. Liu Tongzhen from Lujialou in Yeyuan Town was arrested on January 14, 2015. She was taken to the Linqu Detention Center. Her home was ransacked the next day.

Ms. Li Xue was arrested around December, 2014. She was held for 15 days, had 10,000 yuan extorted from her, and was then released.

Ms. Deng Xiaofen will soon be tried.

13. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cao Zhaohui and Ms. Chen Lingmei Tried

Ms. Cao Zhaohui and Ms. Chen Lingmei from Beixiguo Village in Matou Town were tried in Guan Court on January 14, 2015. The judge seemed to be sympathetic toward Ms. Chen, who is older and weak, and suggested probation for her. However, the Zhuozhou Bureau of Justice authorities turned down the judge's proposal.

Ms. Zhang Jiguo from the Fangshan District was arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Department on October 15, 2014, for talking about Falun Gong. She is being held at the Beijing No.1 Detention Center in the Chaoyang District.
