Additional Persecuting News from China – January 9, 2015 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 3 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Sixteen Practitioners Sentenced

The Haigang Court of Qinhuangdao sentenced 16 practitioners in September 2014. Mr. Lian Baochang was sentenced to 7 years in prison, Ms. Zhang Xiaojie to 5 years, Ms. Pang Shuyue to 4 years and 6 months, Ms. Li Xueying to 4 years, Mr. Hua Zhikai to 4 years, and Ms. Gao Jihong to 2 years and 6 months.

The other practitioners--including Ms. Wang Xin, Ms. Li Lili, Ms. Ye Shuxia, Ms. Zhang Shuzhen and Mr. Sun Guozhong--were each sentenced to one year and 8 months.

More than 10 of those arrested, including Mr. Lian Baochang, Ms. Zhang Xiaojie and Ms. Pang Shuyue, appealed to the Qinhuangdao Intermediate Court, which upheld the original judgment on November 21, 2014.

2. [Leting County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Hongying and Ms. Cui Guang'e Detained

Ms. Liu Hongying and Ms. Cui Guang'e were arrested by officers from the Songdaokou Police Station on December 27, 2014, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong at Songdaokou Market in Luannan County. They are being held in the Luannan Detention Center.

Ms. Xu Kexin, Ms. Wang Suying, Ms. Li Fangjun, and Ms. Guo Dianmin from Lingshan were arrested by officers from the Liaoyang Domestic Security Division and the Xinglong Police Station on January 7, 2015, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. They are being held in the Liaoyang Detention Center.

4. [Jianli County, Hubei Province] Ms. Fu Xingmei Detained

Ms. Fu Xingmei from Jianli County was arrested and taken to the Zishi Police Station on January 7, 2015, for posting informational messages in Zhuangjiatai Village, Zishi Town, Jiangling County. When her husband, Mr. Song, went to the police station the next day and asked that his wife be released, he was assaulted by officers.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Gaiping Detained

Ms. Wang Gaiping from the Minxing District was arrested by officers from the Xinjing Police Station in the Changning District on December 27, 2015. She is being held in the Changning Detention Center. Her home was ransacked.

Mr. Yi Jiahai was sentenced to 4 years in prison in October 2014. He is being held in the Macheng Detention Center.
