(Minghui.org) It is difficult to persuade Chinese tourists to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations at tourist destinations in Taiwan. In other countries, Chinese tourists sometimes agree to quit the CCP busload after busload.
Why is it so difficult to do it in Taiwan? This issue has been brought up in Minghui articles before.
Two days ago, I heard two practitioners discussing the issue: “The election is long over, so why are we still distributing the Epoch Times predicting the winner?” I suggested that they stop distributing them. “We can't,” they said, “because that's all we have to give away.”
In my personal experience, some Chinese tourists have asked us for new materials because they have read them already. They also notice how other sites all carry the same materials.
Seeing the problem, some practitioners wanted to download materials from the Minghui website and print them out to give to the tourists, but as the saying goes, “All good things have unexpected setbacks,” and these practitioners often ran into difficulties.
About 30,000 Chinese tourists visited Taiwan every day over the past year. In the beginning, only a handful of practitioners stood at tourist spots in hopes of persuading the tourists to quit the CCP. At that time, each practitioner was able to persuade a small number of tourists to quit, totaling less than 3,000. After Master taught the Fa at the 2013 Western U.S. Fa Conference—as if a door was suddenly opened—some practitioners were able to persuade over 100 tourists a day to quit. But there are few such practitioners.
This article is intended to open a discussion about the current situation of truth-clarification at Taiwan's tourist spots.
Perfectly Refined
There are many fliers, pamphlets, and picture books on Minghui that have been polished and refined by editors and practitioners in China. From the content to typesetting, everything is perfect after being checked by Minghui editors and many readers.
The reason for this is because (as mentioned in Minghui articles before) in order to clarify the facts effectively, Chinese practitioners read all the materials before they give them out. Then they contact the Minghui editors immediately if they find any problems. That means these materials are more likely to be error-free within a few days. Moreover, the content is up-to-date and reflects current society and the Fa-rectification process. In addition, there are always new materials and newsletters about quitting the CCP published every week.
Articles on Minghui have mentioned how Dafa practitioners in China are very serious about making informational materials. Unfortunately, for so many years now, no such pamphlets or picture books from Minghui have been distributed at Taiwan's tourist spots—not even a flier. The materials created by Taiwan practitioners have very limited content and are problematic.
Even though we have shared about it at length, distributing the Epoch Times from truth-clarification sites has become rare in Taiwan, and sometimes the only material being distributed is the Epoch Times Special Edition, which is a publication for everyday people and inevitably includes elements of infighting, violence, human sentiments, and sexuality.
As the saying goes, “No one is perfect, just as no gold is 100% gold.” The Epoch Times is not perfect. If the Chinese people associate the Epoch Times with Falun Gong and connect the two in their minds, they will become more and more convinced that Falun Gong is political. In my understanding, if truth-clarification materials have “Epoch Times” printed on them, they are implying a relationship between Dafa and the Epoch Times. The materials have thus become something to promote the Epoch Times instead of validating Dafa. This is a big problem.
Treat Materials with Respect
To be respectful of truth-clarification materials, one should print fliers, pamphlets, and picture books from Minghui as is. Minghui has many fliers and newsletters about quitting the CCP. Even though there are only a few picture books, there are enough for truth-clarification in Taiwan, because Minghui provides materials for practitioners in all of China.
The reason for this is that Minghui is the only website, besides the official website www.falundafa.org, where people can download Falun Gong books and find contact information that can represent Falun Gong. Of course, after the persecution started, Minghui has been the first to publish Master's new articles.
I knew a Minghui editor who was very solid in cultivation and very capable in his everyday job. He teamed up with a practitioner with a Ph.D. and created a three-fold flier about Falun Gong as well as the latest information about quitting the CCP. Practitioners around the world began printing the flier as is.
However, in Taiwan, some practitioners decided to make some changes to it. They ended up changing the rare, high-resolution image of the Guizhou Hidden Character Stone that says “Communist Party Collapses” to a low resolution one and inadvertently made some spelling errors.
The situation with truth-clarification materials in Taiwan has been the same for more than 15 years. There are many reasons for it. I do not want to analyze or touch on those elements today, but I have to say this: Although we have some very capable practitioners in Taiwan, we are not familiar with the mainland's living environment and cultural background. Therefore, it is indeed very difficult to create materials that are practical and realistic for mainland Chinese! It is not something that can be explained and then ignored simply by the term “Party Culture.” It is not only by using our Taiwanese truth-clarification materials that we can we develop mighty virtue. If we have consumed Dafa resources and not saved sentient beings, it is our own fault.
Concluding Remarks
It is not my intention to criticize anyone here—my heart just wants to save more precious Chinese people. Truth-clarification materials are a very important part of saving people, and Taiwan has such a shortage despite the fact that there are so many up-to-date materials available on Minghui. It is a pity that Taiwan is not using them well.
I hereby ask the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association to pay attention to the truth-clarification material situation in Taiwan. I hope Taiwan's truth-clarification sites end up overflowing with Minghui fliers, pamphlets, and picture books.
Please kindly point out anything improper. Heshi.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Below is feedback from China a few hours after the article was published.
I could not stop sighing after reading the article “Minghui Materials Are Needed at Taiwan's Truth Clarification Sites.” To be honest, practitioners in China envy Taiwanese practitioners so much because they have such a nice cultivation environment, geographical convenience, and good human relations! Of course, no matter what environment one is in, one has something to improve upon during cultivation.
For instance, where Chinese practitioners have fallen short in their truth-clarification, practitioners around the world have been trying their best to supplement their efforts in order to save sentient beings.
Minghui Weekly has a superb collection of informational materials with rich content and popular subjects that are never repeated. It suits the taste of Chinese people very much.
Given that Taiwan is short of materials, would it be possible for one to, according to one's personal conditions, buy a computer, a printer, and some printing paper, and then download materials from Minghui to print?
I'm sorry for my presumption in presenting my personal point of view. Please point out anything improper. Heshi.
