(Minghui.org) I own an earlier version of the book Zhuan Falun,which I treasure very much. Even though fellow practitioners have given me several copies of newer versions, I have always studied the Fa using this particular copy. Actually, this book was once “stolen,” and the person who “stole” it was my son-in-law, Dachun.
Zhuan Falun Far and Wide
The story starts in 1998 when Falun Dafa was spreading rapidly throughout my hometown. People everywhere were practicing Falun Dafa under their banners, and the exercise music could be heard all over. I was curious, and I was drawn to it.
My elder sister lives in Changchun. She told me Falun Dafa was an advanced cultivation practice in the Buddha school, and it possessed potent power that could cure illness. In fact, she also said that she was studying the Fa and doing the exercises.
I was eager to read the book Zhuan Falun as soon as possible, and after searching several bookstores I finally found a copy at a very remote store. The store owner told me it was the last copy he had, since the government was no longer allowing it to be sold. I felt very lucky and bought the book. I returned to my office and started reading it right away.
However, even though I wanted to, I could not really absorb the contents of the book. Maybe all the things I had learned from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) were preventing me, or perhaps my opportunity had not yet arrived at that time to truly learn it. In the end, I stored the book in my nightstand drawer.
Secret Reader
When I moved from my apartment in 2001, I could not find the book anywhere. My daughter later told me it was at her home, and that her husband, Dachun, had “stolen” the book from me.
Although Dachun was not a practitioner, he liked the book very much, and often read it in secret at home. Since the CCP's persecution was very severe at that time, my daughter worried that Dachun might be persecuted if they found him reading it, so she hid it. Several days later it surfaced again. No matter how hard my daughter tried to hide the book, Dachun was always able to find it.
It is exactly because of Dachun's fondness for this Dafa book that he received blessings later on.
Good Fortune
Dachun works at an oilfield. One day as he was driving an oil transport truck down a slope, there was a herd of cattle to the left and a group of people to the right. He blew the horn to warn them, but nobody got out of the way. He tried to brake, but the brakes did not work.
In a panic, he decided to avoid the people and headed towards the cattle. Just as they were about to collide, the cattle moved aside and made way for his truck to pass by, coasting to a stop. A disaster was avoided and Dachun felt extremely fortunate, although without realizing that Teacher Li Hongzhi had just saved him.
Dachun is an honest man, and others often took advantage of him. For example, others would use all the good vehicles and leave him with the beat-up one. One winter, he was driving an old oil truck, and had to make a turn on a slippery road. The truck headed towards a deep ditch, but just as disaster was about to strike, the truck got stuck on the edge of the road and stopped. Once again, he escaped an accident.
Later on when he talked about this incident, he was shaken.
Universal Law
Heavenly law states that doing good will be rewarded, and evil will receive karmic retribution. Despite the fearful persecution, Dachun treasured the book Zhuan Falun as a most precious gift, thus making a positive connection with Dafa. Therefore, our benevolent Teacher protected him.
I have practiced Falun Dafa for eight years, and this precious book was returned to my hands a long time ago. My daughter also started practicing Dafa recently. As for Dachun, even though he has not formally started practicing, he supports my daughter in her cultivation. He often helps her with the housework, and reminds her of the times to send forth righteous thoughts.
One day, Dachun had a dream that two long substances were pulled out of his nostrils. I know this was Teacher helping him to cleanse his body. I cannot help but think that when Dachun “stole” the book from me, he was not “stealing” a book, but opting for a wonderful future for himself. It is like:
