(Minghui.org) Lately when we talk to people about Falun Gong on the weekends at a nearby market, we often encounter positive attitudes. They accept Minghui Weekly and other materials. They wave from a distance and yell, “Hello! What do you have for us today?” They even chase us for their copy.
We rarely encounter anyone hostile to Falun Gong, but there are still some who are puzzled. We have found that this is because some practitioners talked to them at too high a level and confused them.
I was talking to a a clothing shop owner about Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and how good is rewarded and evil is punished and that those who persecute Falun Gong practitioners will be punished by heaven. He agreed with me and said that he knew Falun Gong was good, that there was nothing wrong with teaching people to be kind and good.
But another practitioner had told him that the earth was going to explode and human beings would all be destroyed. He thought this seemed extreme and unbelievable.
We practitioners all know the inevitable consequences if there is no Fa-rectification. The general public, however, cannot comprehend this. If people are interested in hearing more about Falun Gong, we can tell them about miraculous cures people have experienced from practicing, the good fortune they receive, lessons in history, etc.
These subjects are not too high for them and can help them understand how wonderful Falun Gong is. We can also tell them how the Tiananmen Square self-immolation was staged, about the CCP persecution of Falun Gong, etc. We don't want to scare people away with too much information at too high a level for them to accept.
Another example is a vendor who told me that he has a good friend who practices Falun Gong. He believed in Falun Gong and the principles of Dafa until his friend told him about some miracles he experienced. People tend to believe in things they can see and touch and can be explained with science. People are suspicious of miracles and find them difficult to accept. Then they doubt Falun Gong.
Every practitioner has personally experienced the magic of Dafa. Non-practitioners around us can also believe, if they witness it. And if Falun Gong practitioners do good, people will also believe us. Otherwise, it is hard for people to believe these supernatural phenomena.
Nowadays people are very practical. They believe what they can see with their eyes and what they can touch. They regard everything else as superstitions. Therefore, it is better to clarify the truth with basic facts that people easily accept. Only when they understand and agree with what you say can they be saved. If we talk at too high a level, we cannot save them and might even push them away.
