(Minghui.org) When I read Master's “Don't Argue” (Hong Yin III) again, I suddenly understood: “Cultivation is looking within for the cause.” From that point on, I viewed looking within as the most important thing for cultivating myself. I am a cultivator; I need to take responsibility for myself.

It is not just an individual cultivation issue when one helps Master rectify the Fa, save sentient beings, cultivate oneself and improve one's xinxing; it is one's duty, one's responsibility. One has to cultivate oneself and elevate. Because the higher one's level, the more the compassion, and the more powerful one's abilities, one will thus be better able to fulfill one's vow. Otherwise, it will not only be the loss of one's eternal future, but also the elimination of enormous numbers of sentient beings.

So, our individual cultivation is not only being responsible to ourselves, but also to sentient beings.

Before a Minghui article “Undermining Fa by Lecturing Everywhere” was published, one of the coordinators in our area liked to take a bunch of practitioners to other areas to attend different sharing conferences. He would look down upon our local practitioners when he saw practitioners in other areas do better. As a main coordinator in our area, I had different opinion. When the evil was still rampant, I would consider the group's safety first, believing that that was being responsible to the Fa, to fellow practitioners and sentient beings. I expressed my safety concerns, but he thought that I had fear, and that I was preventing the group from improving. We argued often. After one serious argument, we both decided to stop coordinating, because our cultivation state had already had a negative impact on the group.

The coordinator from the city level came and asked me to look within. I thought: “I was taking responsibility for fellow practitioners, what was wrong with that?”

After intense Fa study, I realized that I was wrong. I had made a big mistake: Looking outward, searching outside, wanting to cultivate others. Buddha's compassion is the only thing that can change a person. I made this mistake because I didn't study the Fa enough, my level was too low, my compassion was lacking, and I was manipulated by the competitive mentality and attachment to fame.

Now we are both coordinating again. Sometimes I think: “It would better if he stopped coordinating.” Immediately after having that thought, I realized that I was wrong!

Only if we look within, cultivate ourselves, and elevate our realms, can we be more compassionate in handling the things and people around us, and be worthy of the No. 1 title in the universe: Fa Rectification Period Dafa Practitioners!

This is my personal understanding. Please kindly point out any shortcomings.
