Additional Persecution News from China – August 22, 2014 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Over ten agents, including Xu Wanghan, from Leiyang 610 Office took Ms. Zheng Aiping to a brainwashing center on August 20, 2014.

2. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yanqing and Her Husband Detained

Ms. Liu Yanqing and her husband, Mr. Zhang Genlai, from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, were arrested by officers from Xiajin County in Dezhou City on May 31, 2014. Ms. Liu is being held in the Dezhou Detention Center and Mr. Zhang in the Xiajin Detention Center.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Ailan Detained

Six officers from the Qingniwaqiao Police Station barged into Ms. Sun Ailan's home and arrested her on the morning of July 21, 2014. They held her in the Huangshanlu Drug Rehabilitation Center in the Ganjingzi District for 10 days, then transferred her to the Dalian Detention Center.

4. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xudong Sentenced to Six Years in Prison

Lubei Court sentenced Ms. Wang Xudong to six years in prison. She was sent to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison on July 1, 2014.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Xuzhen Detained

Ms. Zhao Xuzhen from Haiyang was recently arrested for talking about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Haiyang Detention Center.

6. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Tian Xin and Her Family Persecuted

Chief Wang Bo and other officers from the Horqin Domestic Security Division barged into Ms. Tian Xin's home and arrested her on the evening of August 16, 2014. She is being held in the Baokang Detention Center.

Ms. Tian's younger brother was also arrested in August and is being held in the Kailu Detention Center. Her mother was sentenced to 4 years and is being held in the Hohhot Women's Prison. Her father was tortured to death in Baoanzhao Prison.

7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Diao Yuqin Detained

Ms. Diao Yuqin was arrested by officers from the Xinyanglu Police Station for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on the afternoon of August 20, 2014. Her home was ransacked and she is being held in Yaziquan.

8. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wang Xiuying Detained

Ms. Wang Xiuying, 52, from Xian Jiaotong University was arrested and taken to the Shapo Police Station in the Beilin District on August 21, 2014. She was sent to the Xuanpingyuan Brainwashing Center in the north of Xian that afternoon.

9. [Changji City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Yao Jinling and Ms. Hu Yulan Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yao Jinling was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison. She was transferred from the Changji Detention Center to a women's prison in late July 2014.

Ms. Hu Yulan was sentenced to 3 years in prison. She was transferred from the Hutubi Detention Center to a women's prison.

10. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Mei and Ms. Gu Yi Arrested

Ms. He Mei and Ms. Gu Yi from Guanghan were reported by plainclothes officers and arrested by officers from the Chengbei Police Station in Guanghan for explaining facts about Falun Gong in the Jinling Market on August 21, 2014.

11. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Ping Detained

Ms. Liu Ping was arrested on July 25, 2012, and held in the Huangshi Detention Center. She was later transferred to the Huangshi No.1 Detention Center and was secretly sentenced to 2 years in prison.

When Ms. Liu was released on July 25, 2014, she was taken to the Banqiao Brainwashing Center.

12. [Tianjin] Mr. Yang Xiuzong Arrested on August 20, 2014

13. [Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Han Jinpeng Detained

Mr. Han Jinpeng was arrested by officers from the Jidong Domestic Security Division on the morning of August 19, 2014. He is being held in Jidong County.

Mr. Qiao Dongping was arrested at home on August 19, 2014. His computer and other items were confiscated.

15. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Chen Lizhi Detained and Tortured

Ms. Chen Lizhi, 69, who is retired from Longfei Aircraft Accessory Ltd., which is affiliated with the Guizhou Aircraft Industry Groups in Anshun, was arrested by officers from Zhenning County for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on August 19, 2012. Her home was ransacked. She was held in the Zhenning Detention Center for 4 months, then secretly sentenced to 3 years in prison. She was sent to the Guizhou Women's Prison on December 19, 2014.

Ms. Chen was forced to do slave labor and undergo brainwashing in the prison. She became very weak after being tortured for a long period. Guards took her to a police hospital, but the treatment did not help. To avoid being held responsible, the prison authorities let her family apply for bail to seek medical treatment and released her in late June 2014. Ms. Chen is unable to tend to herself. She has no appetite and her life is in danger.
