Additional Persecution News from China – August 13, 2014 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Ruihua Detained

Ms. Zhang Ruihua, 41, was formerly a teacher at the Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute. She was forced to leave town to avoid further persecution in 2008. She went to Zhenjiang City where police harassed her numerous times. She was arrested and taken to the Dingmao Detention Center on the morning of June 22, 2014.

The police ransacked her home and confiscated two computers, three printers, and several thousand yuan.

2. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liao's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Liao, in her 60s, was arrested for telling people about the facts of Falun Gong on the afternoon of August 11, 2014. Her whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Xinjian County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xiong Meiying Arrested and Money Extorted

Ms. Xiong Meiying was arrested by officers from the domestic security division on the morning of August 5, 2014. After extorting 2,000 yuan from her family, the police released her.

4. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners' Homes Searched

Mr. Lu Lianshan and Ms. Lu Tonge live in Tuozi Village. Their homes were searched on August 8 and August 11, 2014, respectively. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials about the practice.

5. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yin Xianju and Five Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yin Xianju and five other practitioners were arrested when studying the Falun Gong teachings at her home by officers from the Fanjiang Road Police Station on the afternoon of August 11, 2014.

6. [Linshui County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Zhengfeng and Other Practitioners Detained

The police arrested a dozen practitioners on July 25, 2014.

The police broke into Mr. Wang Zhengfeng and Ms. Xu Kaiqiong's homes, arrested them, and confiscated computers, printers and materials.

The practitioners were detained in the Linshui County Criminal Police Division, the Chuandong Hotel, the Xiongying Hotel and the county detention center.

Mr. Zhong Dongsheng, Mr. Wang Zhengfeng, Ms. Tang Sulan, Mr. Luo Xuefang, Ms. Xu Kaiqiong and Ms. Li Kunju were transferred to Guang'an City on August 7, 2014.

Mr. Wang Xianhui, Ms. Meng Fang and Ms. Zhang Bilan were released.

7. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dai Aiping Harassed

Officers from the Dadong Police Department called Ms. Dai Aiping's son on the morning of August 10, 2014. They told him that his mother Ms. Dai had to come to the police department on August 13. 2014.

8. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Jinlian and Ms. Hai Ying in Police Custody

Ms. Wei Jinlian and Ms. Hai Ying, from the Xixingtai Village in the Fuxing District, were arrested for telling others the facts about Falun Gong by officers from the Sucao Police Station on the evening of August 11, 2014.

9. [Tianjin] Ms. Miao Fengling and Two Other Practitioners Put on Trial

Ms. Miao Fengling and Ms. Chen Ruixue were put on trial on August 22, 2014.

A court hearing was scheduled for Ms. Chen Ruiqin on the morning of August 13, 2014.

10. [Fuyang City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Hua Guoxiang Detained

Ms. Hua Guoxiang was arrested when grocery shopping on August 5, 2014. She was taken to the Fuyang Detention Center. Her father, in his 90s, was in the hospital for emergency rescue. Her three-year old granddaughter (not living with her mother) was left at home alone.
