Additional Persecution News from China – August 11, 2014 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 17 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 30 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Cuimei and Husband Mr. Du He Detained

Ms. Ma Cuimei and her husband, Mr. Du He, were arrested on July 18, 2014, and held in custody for 15 days. Mr. Du was released, and Ms. Ma was taken to a brainwashing center on August 2, 2014.

2. [Chongqing] Ms. Xiang Xiaoli Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Xiang Xiaoli was taken to a brainwashing center in early August 2014.

3. [Liaoyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Guixia and Other Practitioners Detained

Ms. Zhang Guixia, Mr. Tian Yifu, and Ms. Tian Yifeng, all from Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province, were recently arrested in Liaoyuan City. Ms. Zhang Guixia and Mr. Tian Yifu are being held in the Liaoyuan City Detention Center. Ms. Tian Yifeng is being held in the Dongfeng Detention Center. Four other practitioners were also detained, including Mr. Zhang Yangang, Mr. Li Jun, Ms. Wang Suqiu, and Mr. Zhang Yuewen.

4. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Ms. Gao Fengjie and Ms. Li Faying Arrested

Ms. Gao Fengjie and Ms. Li Faying were arrested on August 10, 2014, for posting truth-clarifying stickers.

5. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Wanru Mistreated

In order to “transform” practitioners, Yang Aiqing, division head of the No. 9 Ward of the Xinxiang City Women's Prison, ordered criminal inmates to force feed Ms. Wang Wanru for days, while she was in solitary confinement.

6. [Feixi County, Anhui Province] Mr. Wang Xianwen and Other Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Chengguan Police Station broke into Mr. Wang Xianwen's home in Shangpai Town on July 8, 2014. They took a copy of the book Zhuan Falun, along with DVDs and other items. Mr. Wang was beaten and taken to the police station. He was detained for 15 days.

Mr. Wang Danian and his wife, Ms. Cao Fengying, in their sixties, from Shangpai Town, were arrested on the evening of July 17, 2014. Ms. Cao was released the next day. Mr. Wang was taken to a brainwashing center.

7. [Gulin County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Luo Shiwen Tortured

Mr. Luo Shiwen was arrested by officers led by Liu Bo, director of the Dacun Police Station, on June 25, 2014, for posting truth-clarifying stickers. He was held in the Xuyong County Detention Center. The detention center guards shocked him with high-voltage electric batons, which caused him to pass out. His clothes were torn to pieces because of the intensity of the electric shocks, and his skin was injured.

The police ransacked his home and took Falun Dafa books and more than 16,000 yuan in cash. Mr. Luo is back home now.

8. [Gulin County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liao Ting Detained

Mr. Liao Ting from Erlang Town was arrested on July 8, 2014, for distributing materials containing facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being held in the Xuyong Detention Center.

9. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gao Xiulan and Husband Mr. Zhao Chuanxiao Arrested

Ms. Gao Xiulan and another practitioner from the Ranghulu District were arrested on the afternoon of August 5, 2014, for telling people about Falun Gong. The police searched their homes and took a computer, a printer, Dafa books, and materials. The police subsequently arrested Ms. Gao's husband, Mr. Zhao Chuanxiao. Ms. Gao was held in the Daqing No. 1 Detention Center. Mr. Zhao was held in the Daqing No. 3 Detention Center.

10. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qian Juxiang Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Qian Juxiang from the Jiangxia District was taken to the provincial Brainwashing Center from Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center on August 8, 2014.

11. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Yangang and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yangang and Mr. Liu Qinghua were arrested on August 8, 2014. Mr. Liu was released. Ms. Zhang was taken to a detention center.

12. [Holingol City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Jia Haiying and Mr. Meng Hulun Arrested

Li Buhe, head of the Domestic Security Division, and officers from the Sha'erhure Town Police Station broke into Mr. Jia Haiying's home on the morning of August 9, 2014. They arrested Mr. Jia and took a computer, a cell phone, Falun Dafa books, and other items.

Mr. Meng Hulun was also arrested that afternoon. The officers searched his home and took Falun Dafa books and three computers.

13. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Rong Licheng and Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Rong Licheng, Ms. Zhen Hongmei, Mr. Yu Wei, and Ms. Sun Jianchun were arrested on August 7, 2014. Ms. Zhen and Ms. Sun were taken to Weifang. Mr. Rong and Mr. Yu remain in custody at the Shencheng Police Station.

14. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liang Huixian Detained for 15 Days

Ms. Liang Huixian was arrested and taken to the Jiangnanxi Police Station on July 16, 2014. She was detained for 15 days. She is now back home.

15. [Pizhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Chen Shuwei Arrested

Mr. Chen Shuwei was arrested at work and taken to the Pizhou City Detention Center on August 7, 2014. The police took his cell phone and truth-clarifying materials.

16. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Arrested

Ms. Liu was arrested after her ID was checked at a bus station on the afternoon of August 10, 2014.

17. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Si Yanxian, Ms. Xu Xiuqing, and Ms. Di Shuxiu were arrested recently.

18. [Chiping County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Chengguo and Nine Other Practitioners Detained

Ms. Li Linfen, Ms. Lin Xiuwei, Mr. Wang Chengguo, Mr. Wang Yusheng, Mr. Lang Yujie, Mr. Liu Sheng, Mr. Li Xizhu, Ms. Song Guifeng, Ms. Yang Yuxi, and Ms. Chen Guizhen were arrested on the evening of July 20, 2014, for distributing materials containing facts about the persecution. They are being held in the Liaocheng Detention Center.
