(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 4 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 27 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Zhou Meijun Arrested

Ms. Zhou Meijun was arrested for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong at noon on July 12, 2014. The police searched her home that night. Ms. Zhou is being held in the Xicheng Detention Center.

2. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Jianbo Faces Illegal Trial

Mr. Li Jianbo faces a court hearing within days.

3. [Qing'an County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Jingchun and Three Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Jingchun, 74; Ms. Liang Guifen, 77; Ms. Niu Yali, 51; and Ms. Li Yanqiu, 62, were arrested and taken to the county Domestic Security Division for telling people about Falun Gong on July 14,2014. It was reported that Ms. Liang has returned home. After Ms. Zhang developed serious illness symptoms she was also released. Ms. Niu and Ms. Li were taken to the County Detention Center.

4. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guo Zhenju and Ten Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Guo Zhenju and other practitioners were arrested on the afternoon of July 14, 2014. The police ransacked their homes and took their money and other personal belongings. Eleven practitioners are known to have been arrested, including: Ms. Guo Zhenju, Mr. Li Xuepin, Ms. Zhao Xiuyan, Mr. Wang Zhongqing, Ms. Hong Xiuyan, Mr. Gao Hui, Ms. Li Yarong, and Ms. Zhang Xueyan.

5. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhou Cuizhen in Police Custody

Ms. Zhou Cuizhen, in her 50s, is a retired worker. Train station officers searched her bag while she was waiting to board a train at Yancheng City Train Station on the morning of July 15, 2014. The officers found Falun Gong books in her bag and arrested her.

6. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Guizhi Arrested for the Second Time in Two Weeks

Ms. Gao Guizhi and two other practitioners were arrested on June 29, 2014. Ms. Gao was released on the afternoon of June 30. She was arrested again by officers from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of July 11, 2014, She was taken to the Chaoyang City Detention Center.

7. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yuxiang Arrested and Missing

Ms. Wang Yuxiang from Zhuliu Town was arrested at home on July 14, 2014. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Luan Zhihua Arrested

Mr. Luan Zhihua was arrested on July 11, 2014, for posting information about Falun Gong in a residential community.

9. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Huang Rongsheng Detained

Ms. Huang Rongsheng and her husband, Mr. Zhou Kexi, were arrested on June 19, 2014. The husband has returned home. Ms. Huang remains in custody at the Lianyungang City Detention Center.

10. [Chongqing] Elderly Ms. Zhu Zongxiu Arrested

Ms. Zhu Zongxiu, 72, lives at her daughter's home. She was harassed by 12 police officers on the morning of July 15, 2014. They ransacked her daughter's home and took two printers, a notebook computer, a portrait of Falun Gong's founder, and over 50 Falun Gong books. Ms. Zhou was taken to the police department. The officers took written notes when interrogating her. Because of her age, she was released that afternoon.

11. [Tianjin] Ms. Long Shan Arrested

On June 27, 2014, Ms. Long Shan learned that the police had arrested Ms. Gao Shuli, whose 12-year-old daughter was left at home unattended. She drove to Ms. Gao's apartment to pick up the child. Police officers stopped and questioned her in the stairway to Ms. Gao's apartment. They arrested her, and drove her car away. Seven or eight officers broke into her home and ransacked it that night. They took a computer, a printer, a copy machine, cell phones, bank card, and all the ID cards they found.

12. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiuying Detained

Ms. Wang Xiuying and another practitioner from Xiaodian Village in Changzhi Town were arrested by Liu Xin and other officers from the Beian Police Station on July 12, 2014, for telling people the facts about Falun Gong. The police searched Ms. Wang's home. Both practitioners are being held in the Pudong Detention Center.

13. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Shourong Arrested

Officers from the Wanxin Police Station and the Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Yu Shourong's rented home and arrested her on the afternoon of July 7, 2014. The officers searched her place and took a computer, a printer, nine copies of Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings.

14. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Yufen and Three Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Yufen and Ms. Wang Yulan from Baarin Left Banner were arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on July 13, 2014. When the police went to search Ms. Li's home, Ms. Li Yumei and Ms. Hou Guilan were there producing Falun Gong materials. They were also arrested. The four practitioners are being held in the Left Banner Detention Center.

16. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Two Practitioners Appeal Unlawful Verdicts

Sentenced to three years and three and a half years in prison by Xiasha Court in May 2014, Ms. Dai Chun and Ms. Zhang Guofen recently appealed to Hangzhou Intermediate Court. Sources said the Intermediate Court is planning to try the two practitioners secretly.

Ms. Zhang and Ms. Dai are now in Hangzhou Detention Center.

17. [Shanghai] Three Practitioners Face Illegal Sentencing

About a dozen practitioners were arrested on February 20, 2014, including Ms. Gong Naifang, 78; Ms. Chen Xiangnu, 75; and her husband, Mr. Gu Shouxian, 75.

Ms. Gong and Ms. Chen have been detained at Xuhui Detention Center since then. Mr. Gu was released on bail due to a health problem.

Ms. Gong began to vomit blood after a hunger strike to protest the persecution in Xuhui Detention Center. The police denied her family's request to her release her on medical parole and withheld information regarding her current situation.

The three of them are facing illegal sentencing.

18. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Hua Illegally Detained for Over Seven Months

Ms.Wang Hua, 52, has been unlawfully detained at Fushun Detention Center for more than seven months following her arrest on December 19, 2013.
