(Minghui.org) An illegal trial was held for Ms. Fu Xuebing, Ms. Deng Fangying and Ms. Xie Aiying on the morning of July 29, 2014. Ms. Deng and Ms. Fu pleaded “not guilty” for themselves. Officials at the Meijiang District Court in Meizhou City Guangdong Province have not reached a verdict.
Ms. Fu used to be very healthy, but after being held at the Fuda Detention Center in Meixian District, she became very thin and her skin became dark. She shouted “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” as she was brought into the courtroom, handcuffed and shackled. Her parents and 3-year-old granddaughter were present at the hearing.
The prosecutor from the Meijiang District Procuratorate Lin Cuiting accused Ms. Fu of “bringing calamity to the country and the people” and not taking care of her parents. He also slandered Falun Gong.
When Ms. Fu’s elderly mother heard the prosecutor accusing her daughter of not taking good care of her parents, she couldn’t help but shout out that the prosecutor was talking nonsense.
Even though the defense lawyer kept getting interrupted by the judge, he continued to plead innocence for the practitioners. The lawyer submitted to the court the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) list of cult organizations and pointed out that Falun Gong was not on it.
There were between 40 to 50 young people sitting in the courtroom, who were of no relation to the practitioners. They looked intrigued with the proceedings, as though they were learning a lot about the persecution of Falun Gong that they'd never heard before.
Ms. Deng Fangying’s mother didn’t fully understand why her daughter clarified the facts to people. But after she listened to the lawyer’s statements and her daughter’s plea, she realized that her daughter only wanted people to learn the truth about the persecution, and said that she would hire a lawyer for her daughter as well.
