Additional Persecution News from China – July 14, 2014 (25 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 25 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Bai Guiyin and Ms. Gu Zucui Illegally Detained

Mr. Bai Guiyin and Ms. Gu Zucui from Hongyan Town were arrested by officers from the 610 Office and a police station in Aoping Town in June 2014. Both practitioners are still being held in custody.

2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yang Naijian Sentenced to Prison

The Chengyang District Court tried Mr. Yang Naijian, Mr. Feng Hua, and Ms. Liu Xiuzhen for the second time in the Chengyang Detention Center on the afternoon of July 8, 2014. Mr. Yang was sentenced to six years in prison, Mr. Feng to four years, and Ms. Liu to three years.

3. [Chongqing] Ms. Yu Yeyi Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Yu Yeyi, 70, from the Shapingba District, was arrested by officers from the Qixinggang Police Station on the afternoon of June 22, 2014. She was held in the Liudianzi Detention Center. On July 8, 2014, the police broke into her home and took Falun Dafa books and a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong. She was transferred to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center on July 9.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ye Qingli Arrested

Ms. Ye Qingli,from the Zhongshan District was arrested on the morning of July 9, 2014. The police ransacked her home and took Falun Dafa books, a portrait of Falun Gong's founder, and a computer.

5. [Huizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Liuzhen and Family Arrested

Ms. Wang Liuzhen was arrested on the morning of July 8, 2014, for distributing materials that clarify the facts about Falun Gong. The police searched her home and arrested her husband and two daughters, who are not practitioners. Her family was released that night, but Ms. Wang is being held in the Meihu Detention Center in the Xiajiao area.

6. [Wuxi City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Yang Kongchao Detained

Mr. Yang Kongchao from Shan County, Shandong Province, worked at odd jobs in Yixing City, a part of Wuxi. He was arrested by officers from the Yixing Police Department. He is now in the Luping Detention Center.

7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Han Xiurong Secretly Put on Trial

Ms. Han Xiurong was secretly tried in Fengrun District Court on June 9, 2014.

8. [Fuyang City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Hua Guoxiang Harassed

Officials from the Fuyang City Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the court went to Ms. Hua Guoxiang's home and harassed her on July 10, 2014.

Ms. Hua had previously been sentenced twice. She was followed by police officers in May 2012 for distributing materials containing facts about the persecution. Ms. Hua was arrested and taken to the Fuyang City Labor Camp on the morning of July 17, 2012. Ms. Sheng Huaqin and Ms. Bao Xiaying were also arrested at that time.

Ms. Hua was sentenced to four years in prison, and Ms. Bao to seven years. After Ms. Hua's family spent a lot of money, her prison term was changed to a two-year suspended sentence. She was released on February 6, 2013.

9. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Ms. Hu Borong Forced to Leave Home

Ms. Hu Borong is retired from the Huangmei County No. 3 Hospital. On July 5, 2014, when she was returning home from grocery shopping, two people from the hospital where she worked were waiting for her in front of her home. She managed to get away.

10. [Tongren City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Yang Lanzhen Suffers Mental Collapse

Ms. Yang Lanzhen, who works at the Tongren City Power Supply Bureau, was taken to the Xieqiao Detention Center in early November, 2013. She was then transferred to the Lannigou Brainwashing Center in Guiyang City. She was taken back to Tongren City around December 2, 2013.

In less than a month, Ms. Yang was severely abused. Her face was a mess, and she became mentally unstable. It's suspected that she was injected with poisonous drugs that damaged her central nervous system. Her family has now taken her to a mental hospital.

11. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yao Wei Detained

The police broke into Ms. Yao Wei's office and arrested her. The officers then searched her home. They took Falun Dafa books, DVDs, a computer, and a printer, among other items. She is now in the Futian District Detention Center.

12. [Ju County, Shandong Province] Funds Extorted from Ms. Zhang Jiaju's Husband

Ms. Zhang Jiaju was arrested and taken to the Ju County Detention Center. The police went to Ms. Zhang's home in Qingdao in early July, 2014. They demanded 10,000 yuan from her husband. Her husband told them that he did not have it, so the police took him to the detention center and held him for 24 hours. They made him pay 5,000 yuan, plus a 24-hour detention fee of 350 yuan before releasing him.

13. [Tahe County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Tian Jinling and Ms. Gao Yanjun Detained

Ms. Tian Jinling and Ms. Gao Yanjun were arrested and taken to a police station by Wang Suo, director of the Targen Police Station, and over a dozen officers on July 10, 2014.

The police interrogated and tortured them. Both practitioners were taken to the Xinlin Detention Center on the evening of July 11, 2014.

14. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Changqing Arrested

Mr. Wang Changqing from Caosan Village, Sibaoshan Town, Zhangdian Development District, was arrested for distributing materials containing facts about the persecution of Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 12, 2014

15. [Tianjin] Ms. Feng Xiulan Held in The Nankai Detention Center

Ms. Feng Xiulan, 70, was arrested on May 5, 2014, for distributing materials with information about Falun Gong. The police searched her home and took DVDs, leaflets, and nearly 2,000 yuan in paper bills with facts about Falun Gong written on them. Ms. Feng is now held in the Nankai Detention Center.

16. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Huifen Detained

Ms. Zhang Huifen was arrested and taken to the Erqi Police Station on the morning of July 11, 2014, for distributing Falun Gong informational DVDs. When her husband learned his wife was arrested, he went to the police station to ask for her release. He was told that Ms. Zhang had already been taken to the Wuhan Women's Reeducation Center for 10 days.

17. [Wuding County, Yunnan Province] Ms. Wu Jimei Detained

The Wuding County police searched Ms. Wu Jimei's home and arrested her on June 30, 2014. Ms. Wu is 68 years old.

The police located Mr. Tang Shuhua in Kunming by tracking his cell phone. They ransacked Mr. Tang's home and arrested him on July 6, 2014.

Both Ms. Wu and Mr. Tang are being held in the Wuding County Detention Center.

18. [Dayi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiong Xiufen Arrested

Ms. Xiong Xiufen from Tiexi Village, Hanchang Town, was taken to the Anren Town Brainwashing Center of Dayi County on June 16, 2014. She has now returned home.

19. [Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Yulan Arrested

Ms. Wang Yulan from Ling County, Shandong Province, was arrested in the Jinchuan Development Zone for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on the afternoon of June 15, 2014. She was taken to the Jinchuan Development Zone Police Station for interrogation.

When the police learned that Ms. Wang was staying with her younger son, they rushed to his home and ransacked it. They took Falun Dafa books, cell phones, Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, and her son's computer among other personal belongings. Then the police went to the hospital where Ms. Wang's daughter in-law works to harass her. The hospital officials deducted one month's salary and two months' bonus from her pay.

20. [Jianhu County, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Hong Youquan and Ms. Hong Yan Arrested

Mr. Hong Youquan and Ms. Hong Yan were arrested on July 11, 2014. Their homes were searched.

21. [Wenling City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Jiang Xiuqing Detained

Ms. Jiang Xiuqing from Ruoheng Town was arrested by officers from the Ruoheng Police Station for distributing brochures about Falun Gong on the morning of June 25, 2014. Ms. Jiang was taken to the Ruoheng Police Station. The police searched her and took written notes when interrogating her. She was taken to the Wenling City Detention Center for 10 days.

22. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Lu Meihua, Ms. Sun Ping, and Ms. Li Xuelian were arrested on July 9, 2014.

23. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Shuirong Harassed

Ms. Zhong Shuirong from the Qingbaijiang District was harassed. Ms. Zhong's mother was also harassed by people from the Shijianian Residential Community. They demanded she tell them Ms. Zhong's whereabouts. In order to avoid being harassed by the authorities himself, Ms. Zhong's landlord told her to move out.

24. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Wenduo

Mr. Chen Wenduo was sentenced to three years in prison on May 21, 2014. On July 13, his family learned that he had high blood pressure. They are planning to demand Mr. Chen's release.
