Additional Persecution News from China – July 20, 2014 (23 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 20 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Fenghui Detained

Ms. Zhao Fenghui, in her 40s, was arrested by officers from the Weixinglu Police Station on the morning of July 17, 2014. The police then ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, Falun Dafa books, currency bills with messages about Falun Dafa written on them. Ms. Zhao was transferred to the Changchun No. 3 Detention Center after being held at the police station for one day.

2. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Hongmei Arrested

Ms. Zhang Hongmei was arrested by officers from the Qian'an No. 3 Police Station on the night of July 15, 2014. The police ransacked her home and took away her printer, DVDs, money, and other belongings. She was transferred to the Qian'an Detention Center after being held at the police station until the next day.

3. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Min Sentenced

Ms. Yang Min was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment.

4. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ning Chunyan Detained

Ms. Ning Chunyan was taken to the Fushun Brainwashing Center on July 18, 2014 after being held at the Dalian Drug Rehabilitation Center for 10 days.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Quandi Sentenced

Ms. Wang Quandi from Hongkou District was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment on July 18, 2014.

6. [Zhanhua County, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Maorui's Arrest

Officers from the Zhanhua Police Department notified Ms. Sun Maorui's family about the approval of her arrest on July 17, 2014. Ms. Sun is being held at the Liguo Detention Center.

7. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Chengjiang Arrested

Mr. Wang Chengjiang was arrested in front of his home on July 18, 2014.

8. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Detained

Ms. Yin Shuling and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Changdelu Police Station when they were producing materials about Falun Gong at Taizhang Village, Changlu Town at noon on July 18, 2014. They were transferred to the Linyi City Detention Center on that afternoon.

9. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Hongxia Forced to Become Homeless

The Dalian police broke into Ms. Liu Hongxia's home in Ganjingzi District and ransacked it on July 18, 2014. Ms. Liu managed to escape and was forced to become homeless in order to avoid the arrest.

10. [Pingxiang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Jianfeng Detained

Mr. Liu Jianfeng is still being held at the Xingtai Brainwashing Center.

11. [Shenzhen, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yu Daoping Arrested

Ms. Yu Daoping was arrested on the afternoon of July 15, 2014. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer and Falun Dafa books.

12. [Benxi, Liaoning Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhao Fugui from Pianling Town was arrested on the night of July 16, 2014. The police arrested Ms. Sun Shuyu, Mr. Liu Bin and his wife Ms. Ran Fang, Ms. Zhao Fengyun from Xiaoshi, Mr. Yang Sen and Mr. Xu Jie the next day.

13. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Kun Detained

Ms. Xu Kun from Huayuancun, Haidian District was arrested at home by officers from the Ganjiakou Police Station on the morning of July 18, 2014. She is being held at the Xicheng District Detention Center.

14. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Arrest of Ms. Yu Guifang's Family

Ms. Yu Guifang was arrested in Jinan, Shandong Province. Her daughter Ms. Chen Bingnan was also arrested at her home in Weifang. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Chen's husband and mother-in-law were arrested in Jinan at the same time. Ms. Chen is being held at the Weifang Detention Center.

15. [Fei County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Qifeng Detained

Ms. Wang Qifeng, 63, from Lijian Village, was arrested by officers from the Mazhuang Town Police Station on July 16, 2014. She is being held at the Linyi Detention Center.

16. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Jinping Arrested

Ms. Zhang Jinping from Dongcheng District was arrested at home by officers from the Chongwenmen Police Station on July 17, 2014. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, printer and other property.

17. [Zhuozhou, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Chunfang Harassed

Five police officers from the Zhuozhou Domestic Security Division climbed over an iron gate and broke into Ms. Zhang Chunfang's home in Yongle Village, Shuangta District. They ransacked it on July 17, 2014.

Ms. Zhang had been held at the forced labor camps twice and arrested many times. Her husband Li Heng was tortured and unable to care for himself when he was illegally detained. He passed away in 2005 after being released home for medical treatment. The police took her entire family to a brainwashing center during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

18. [Meishan, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Xuejun Detained

Mr. Zhang Xuejun and his wife were arrested at home and taken to the Suci Police Station by plainclothes officers from the Meishan Domestic Security Division on July 7, 2014. His wife was released on that day. Mr. Zhang has been transferred to the Qingshen County Detention Center.

19. [Kaili, Guizhou] Three Practitioners Received Heavy Sentence

The Kaili Court tried Mr. Wen Jiguo ,42, Ms. Wang Renzhi, 59, and Mr. Bao Zhengwei, 50, on April 17, 2014. The judge did not announce the decision in the court. The court announced heavy sentences against the three practitioners: Mr. Wen, 12 years; Ms. Wang, 10 years; and Mr. Bao, 8 years on July 7, 2014.

20. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Runzhen's Family Forced to Become Homeless

Officers from the Jiang'an District 610 Office and the local police went to Ms. Wang Runzhen's home many times in May. They coerced 70-year-old Ms. Wang to write a guarantee letter to give up practicing Falun Gong. Her husband was terribly frightened. Considering his safety, Ms. Wang's family was forced to become homeless.

21. [Xi'an, Shaanxi] Mr. Yuan Guangwu's Daughters Arrested

Mr. Yuan Guangwu and his wife Zhang Cuicui were arrested by officers from the Kunminglu Police Station on the early morning of July 17, 2014. His son, daughters and relatives went to the police station and requested their release on the morning of July 19, 2014. The police held them without a reason. Mr. Yuan's son and relatives have been released. His son's clothing was torn and his back was injured. Mr. Yuan's two daughters are still being held.

22. [Huili County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Dengqiong's Arrest

Ms. Wu Dengqiong, 70, from Yundian Town was arrested at home by officers from the Yundian Police Station on July 9, 2014. Liu Jianping, chief of the police station and other officers went to her home and demanded her family sign the arrest warrant on July 11, 2014. Ms. Wu is being held at the Huili County Detention Center.

23. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Six Practitioners Sentenced

The Dalian Developing District Court announced sentences on six practitioners: Mr. Liu Qingtao, 5 years; Mr. Ye Shuhui, 4 years, and Ms. Yu Yuanmin, 3 years on July 10 and 11, 2014.
