Additional Persecution News from China – July 23, 2014 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 27 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province] Ms Liu Huiyan Detained

Ms. Liu Huiyan, in her 20s, from Tongcheng County, Hubei Province, was working at odd jobs in Jiaxing City. She was arrested by the local police on June 20, 2014. She is now being held in the Jiaxing City Detention Center in the Nanhu District.

2. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Bao Shuqin Arrested

Ms. Bao Shuqin was arrested at her rental home on the morning of July 18, 2014.

3. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Leng Xiaoli and Her Sister-in-Law Detained

Ms. Leng Xiaoli and her sister-in-law were arrested and taken to the Nong'an County Detention Center on July 18, 2014.

4. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xing Dan Arrested

Ms. Xing Dan was arrested on July 21, 2014. The police took three computers, a printer, and several thousand yuan in cash.

5. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Lijie and Five Other Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

Zhao Kai, from the Tumen City 610 Office, Quan Yongzhe, from the Domestic Security Division, along with other officers arrested Ms. Song Lijie and five other practitioners on the afternoon of July 19, 2014. The six practitioners were taken to the City's No. 2 High School Brainwashing Center.

6. [Leizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Feng Caifeng and Ms. Qiu Jianhua Face Second Trial

The Leizhou City Court held a secret trial for Ms. Feng Caifeng and Ms. Qiu Jianhua on June 6, 2014, without notifying their families. Both practitioners were sentenced to five years in prison. They appealed to the Zhanjiang City Intermediate Court, and now face a second trial.

Ms. Li Yongqin was arrested on the afternoon of July 18, 2014.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Minghua Sentenced

Ms. Xu Minghua was recently sentenced to three years in prison.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Caiyan and Her Mother Arrested

Ms. Sun Caiyan was arrested at home by officers from the Chunhai Police Station on the morning of July 21, 2014. At the same time, her mother, Ms. Wang Yuhe, was also arrested at home. The officers ransacked both homes.

10. [Chongqing] Mr. Wei Jiuqin and Mr. Luo Min Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Wei Jiuqin, 70, and Mr. Luo Min, in his 50s, were arrested at their homes. Both practitioners were taken to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center.

11. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Hao Pengzhe and Two Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Hao Pengzhe, Mr. Xu Shengran, and Ms. Xu Guixiang, from the Downhole Operation Company of Huabei Oilfield in Renqiu City, were arrested on July 14, 2014 by Bu Yunfei and other officers from the Jizhong Police Department.

12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Jingxiu and Ms. Liang Lijun Detained

Ms. Liu Jingxiu was arrested and taken to the Weizigou Detention Center on July 18, 2014. Ms. Liang Lijun is also being held in the Weizigou Detention Center. They have been detained for 15 days.

13. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Bao Shuqin and Ms. Tai Lijuan Arrested

Ms. Tai Lijuan, from the Hongguang Farm, was arrested at home on July 21, 2014. The police searched her home and took Falun Dafa books, a computer, and other personal belongings.

Ms. Bao Shuqin was also arrested at home.

14. [Faku County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Xiujun Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiujun was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Shiqiao Police Station on the morning of July 22, 2014. Her home was ransacked.

15. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhou Chuanye and Ms. Zhou Yuexiang Arrested

Mr. Zhou Chuanye was arrested at home on April 22, 2014. The police ransacked his home and took his Falun Dafa books. He is now being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.

Seven undercover officers broke into Ms. Zhou Yuexiang's home on the morning of April 22, 2014. They arrested Ms. Zhou, in her 60s, and took her Falun Dafa books and an MP3 player. Ms. Zhou was taken to the Dalian Detention Center for 15 days of detention. She has since returned home.

16. [Wuhu City, Anhui Province] Ma. Ma Xiaohua Arrested

Ms. Ma Xiaohua was arrested by personnel from the local police department on July 17, 2014.

17. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Yahua Arrested

Officers, led by the director of the Longhua Police Station, broke into Ms. Zhu Yahua's home. They arrested Ms. Zhu and took Falun Dafa books and a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong. She was taken to the police station and released the same day.

18. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Shen Jun Arrested

Mr. Shen Jun was arrested by officers from the Shuangqiaozi Police Station on July 15, 2014. His home was searched that night.

19. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lin Jianping Detained

Ms. Lin Jianping was arrested for telling others about Falun Gong on July 19, 2014. She is being held in the Qixia City Detention Center.

20. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Fang Xiuzhen Severely Persecuted

Ms. Fang Xiuzhen, 62, was arrested in the latter half of 2008 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was subsequently sentenced to three years in prison. She is being held in the Guangzhou Women's Prison. She was not allowed to wash her face or brush teeth for two months. She wasn't allowed to use the bathroom until midnight. When Ms. Fang was released in 2012, her husband was bedridden because of terminal illness. He died shortly after she returned home.
