(Minghui.org) My father-in-law likes to read Falun Dafa truth clarification materials. He knows that Dafa is good, and that practitioners are good people. Although he doesn't practice Falun Dafa, he supports the practice and tries to protect practitioners when they are in danger.

One day my father-in-law saw two police officers arresting two practitioners and lead them away in handcuffs. One of the officers greeted my father-in-law and asked where he was going. My father-in-law used to be a teacher, and the officer had been his student.

“What are you doing?” My father-in-law asked.

“They practice Falun Dafa and were promoting it. We caught them, and we're taking them to the police station,” they replied.

“How can you do that? They practice Falun Dafa, but they don't kill people or commit arson. So if they like to practice, let them do it. Why do you arrest them? Why not release them? I will take all the responsibility,” my father-in-law said.

The officer looked at his partner and said, “Let's release them.” He opened the handcuffs and released the two practitioners, who thanked my father-in-law and bowed to him. They said, “We wish you a happy family life, health, and longevity.”

Stopping the Police from Committing a Crime

One day my father-in-law came cross a practitioner who was talking about quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Unfortunately, a plainclothes officer nearby overhead them. When the practitioner finished talking and left, the officer set out to chase him down. My father-in-law saw what was going to happen and approached the officer, saying “I want to ask you something.”

My father-in-law then asked him how to get to the market. In fact, he didn't want to go to the market, as he knew how to get there anyway. He just wanted to to stop the officer from arresting the practitioner.

When my father-in-law saw that the practitioner was far away, he asked the officer, “How can you do such a thing?” The officer realized that my father-in-law had purposely stopped him to protect the practitioner.

Committing a Sin

My father-in-law once talked with a guard who is also my father-in-law's relative, and works in a prison. He inquired whether any practitioners detained there were beaten or not. The relative told him that practitioners were beaten viciously by other guards, but not him. He said that he had witnessed practitioners being beaten to death.

My father-in-law said, “That is a sin. You'd better not learn from them, as practitioners are all good people. They haven't done anything wrong.”

The relative said, “I will listen to you, I won't beat them.” My father-in-law then suggested that he advise his colleagues not to beat practitioners or treat them badly. The relative promised.

Standing Up to Police

My father-in-law once saw some people standing around a lamppost. He went over and saw officials and police erasing the words “Falun Dafa is good.” He said, “Don't erase that. Let them write it if they like. Let them believe what they want.” One of the police officers stared at him and asked, “What are you doing?” “I am going to the market,” my father-in-law replied. Others later said to my father-in-law, “You are so brave. No one dares to say anything to the police.”

A practitioner met up with my father-in-law and told him that if he recited, “Falun Dafa is good,” he would be blessed. After the practitioner left, a plainclothes officer went over to my father-in-law and asked, “What did that person say to you?” My father-in-law told him. The officer ordered him not to say those words. My father-in-law said, “It is my mouth. I can say what I like. It has nothing to do with you!” He then shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!”
