Additional Persecution News from China – July 11, 2014 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 25 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yu Shourong and Two Others Arrested

Mr. Yu Shourong from Xintun, a young girl who lived with Mr. Yu, and Ms. Ji Sujuan from Shuncheng District were arrested on July 7, 2014. Their homes were ransacked. The young girl and Ms. Ji were released. Mr. Yu was sent to the Nangou Detention Center the next evening.

Mr. Wang Demei was taken to the Pudong Detention Center on July 6, 2014

3. [Wuwei City, Gansu Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhao, Mr. Xu, Mr. Zhang, Mr. Xu Jinbiao and his wife Ms. Zhang Wenjuan, Ms. Zhang's elder brother Mr. Zhang Wenyan and Ms. Zhang's brother-in-law Mr. Zhao Zongcheng were arrested. Mr. Zhang Wenyan was release on July 5, 2014.

4. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Zhiwu Tried

Mr. Wang Zhiwu was tried on July 8, 2014.

5. [Huairen County, Shanxi Province] Mr. Liu Guisheng's Family Arrested

Three members of Mr. Liu Guisheng's family were arrested for going to the 610 Officedirector's home to demand Mr. Liu's release on July 10, 2014.

6. [Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Liu Huiyan Arrested

Ms. Liu Huiyan, in her 20s, from Tongcheng County in Hubei Province, was working in Jiaxing City. She was arrested by officers from the Jiaxing Police Department around June 20, 2014.

7. [Suining County, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Qiu Mei Detained

Li Benqing and other officers from the Liangji Police Station barged into Ms. Qiu Mei's home in Pan Village and arrested her on the morning of July 9, 2014. She was taken to the Xinghua Brainwashing Center in Taizhou City the same day.

8. [Pi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gao Chunxiu Arrested

Seven to eight unidentified agents broke into Ms. Gao Chunxiu's home in Gaodianzi and took her to the Pi Detention Center on the evening of July 8, 2014. She was handcuffed there for a night. Her home was ransacked and a computer, two printers and over 20,000 yuan were confiscated.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Dalian Development Zone Court authorities sentenced three practitioners on the morning of July 10, 2014. Mr. Liu Qingtao was sentenced to five years in prison, Mr. Ye Shuhui four years and Ms. Li Shufen three years. Only sentences were read during the session. The practitioners and their family member were not allowed to speak.

10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qu Zhufen Detained

Ms. Qu Zhufen was arrested by officers from the Bianfang Police Station in Shazikou for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on July 1, 2014. She has been transferred to the Qingdao No. 3 Police Station.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ye Qingli Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Ye Qingli was held in a van by five to six officers on the morning of July 9, 2014. Her father came back home around noon, and found their home a mess. The photo of Falun Gong founder Mr. Li Hongzhi, a computer, Falun Gong books, an MP3 player and other items were missing. Ms. Ye's whereabouts are unknown.

12. [Qishan County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Liu Huixia Detained

Liu Huixia, a retired employee at Qishan Hydropower Bureau, was arrested by officers from the Traffic Police Group for talking about Falun Gong on July 10, 2014. She is being held at the Fengming Police Station.

Her 80-year-old mother went to the Traffic Police Group to ask that her daughter be released. Unable to see her daughter, she went back home. The elderly mother was followed by three to four officers who then ransacked their home and confiscated over 40 Falun Gong books and copies of Minghui Weekly.

Ms. Li was previously held in a forced labor camp for over a year.

13. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Jing and Ms. Yu Guifang Detained

Ms. Yu Guifang from Weifang City in Shandong Province went to Jinan City to visit her relative. She and her friend, Ms. Li Jing, were arrested at Ms. Li's home by officers from the Jinan Police Department on the afternoon of July 4, 2014. Officers then ransacked Ms. Li's two residences. Officers from Weifang Police Department and Kuiwen Police Department ransacked the homes of Ms. Yu and her daughter. Ms. Yu and Ms. Li are being held in the Zhonggong Detention Center.

14. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chang Xiuhua Arrested

Ms. Chang Xiuhua was arrested by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station for informing people about Falun Gong.

15. [Pingxiang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Jianfeng Detained

Mr. Liu Jianfeng was arrested by officers from the Pingxiang No. 2 Patrolling Police for spending currency bills with messages about Falun Gong written on them and distributing informational DVDs on July 9, 2014. He was taken to the Xingtai Brainwashing Center the next day.

16. [Jing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Jingqin and Ms. Zhang Lanjun Arrested

Ms. Ma Jingqin and Ms. Zhang Lanjun from Longhua Town were arrested by director Hewensheng and others from the Zita Police Station for explaining the facts about Falun Gong in Shi Village in Zita Township, Wuyi County on March 26, 2014. They were taken to the Wuyi Police Department Domestic Security Division. Their family members went to the Domestic Security Division that afternoon to ask for their release. The division chief extorted 7,000 yuan from each family, and did not let them disclose the bribe. They then released Ms. Ma and Ms. Zhang.

17. [Nanjiang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yan Yuming Detained

Ms. Yan Yuming has been held in the Bazhong Detention Center since April 2014.

18. [Meishan CIty, Sichuang Province] Mr. Zhang Xuejun Detained

Mr. Zhang Xuejun was detained on July 7, 2014. He is being held in the Meishan Detention Center.

19. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Chen Wensheng Arrested

Mr. Chen Wensheng was arrested by seven to eight officers from the Jinhua Police Station in Liwan District and agents from the 610 Office on May 28, 2014. He is being held in the Liwan Detention Center. His lawyer confirmed in early July that a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

20. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Cheng Jianli Arrested

Mr. Cheng Jianli from Houma City, Shanxi Province was arrested for practicing the Falun Gong exercises in a hotel in Hefei City on on May 18, 2014. He is being held in the Hefei No.1 Detention Center. His lawyer confirmed late June that a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
