(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Gong in 2012. I had learned about quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations prior to becoming a practitioner and had already had helped over 200 family members and friends withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
The first test I encountered was the fear of being persecuted by the CCP. In China, people live in constant fear because of the atrocities committed during and after the Cultural Revolution. The fear is so strong that it becomes inescapable.
At the same time, the old forces insist on a so-called test, using that fear generated by the CCP. The CCP minions ruthlessly torture determined practitioners to reach their selfish goals. Many practitioners, however, have overcome the tribulations despite this unprecedented persecution.
Underestimating the CCP Monitoring System
I underestimated the CCP monitoring system and contacted fellow practitioners from a cell phone when I first began cultivating. I didn’t realize that their cell phones had been tapped and that they were monitored. The authorities took advantage of my ignorance.
Officials from all levels, including the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, and the national security office, harassed and threatened me constantly. They claimed that they had sufficient evidence that I was practicing Falun Gong.
I wasn’t afraid. After asking help from Teacher Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, I told them straightt out that I indeed practiced Falun Gong.
Defending Falun Gong
To protect other practitioners, I repeatedly emphasized that I was the one who asked them to teach me the exercises. The official from the National Security Office asked, “Do you know that the government has specified that no one can participate in Falun Gong organizations?”
I replied, “Falun Gong teaches people the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It causes no harm to our country or any individual. You can read Zhuan Falun and tell me which part is wrong. I know how to tell what is right from wrong.” I patiently told them the facts about Falun Gong.
I also said, “Falun Gong is being practiced in over 100 countries. Why is China the only country that persecutes it? Falun Gong has spread worldwide, indicating that the world needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It teaches everyone to be kind. It guides a cultivator so he or she can improve their moral level and raise their cultivation level. There is nothing wrong with practicing it, and I have the right to choose.”
One Righteous Thought Suppresses 100 Evils
One righteous thought can suppress 100 evils. Seeing that I was not giving in, the official said, “We are only concerned about your future. We work in the same county and will see each other often. We won’t punish you this time. You need to be careful.”
In my heart, I knew that Teacher determines the outcome. As long as I keep righteous thoughts, commit no evil, don’t recognize the old forces’ arrangement, and only walk the path arranged by Teacher, the evil will fail.
The officials where I worked and higher level authorities took turns talking with me. But no matter how hard they tried to convince me to give up practicing Falun Gong, my heart was not moved. On the contrary, I became more and more determined. I took every opportunity to clarify the truth about the practice. In fact, their knowing side was very clear. Ultimately, I was not affected at all.
Family Ties Could Not Change My Belief
Seeing that I refused to give in, the CCP tried another approach. They ordered my family members to “persuade” me.
I understood that Teacher wanted me to get rid of my sentimentality, such as my attachment to my family. Therefore, I eliminated the interference and treated my family as people who needed to be saved. They all understood me in the end.
I didn’t back down in the face of these tactics. Instead I was more diligent in doing the three things. I used every opportunity to clarify the truth, asked people to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, and helped other practitioners to catch up with the pace of the Fa rectification. My home became a group Fa study site.
In the last stage of this Fa rectification period, I am fortunate to have become a practitioner. I’m deeply grateful for Teacher’s compassionate salvation.

“The entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments.” (Zhuan Falun)
Human beings live in a maze. Because they care a lot about fame, personal interests, and sentimentality, they develop many strong attachments. As a practitioner, we can let go of life and death. What obstacle can possibly prevent us from following Teacher and achieving consummation?
