(Minghui.org) After she was released in December 2013, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Xuexian was illegally arrested again on April 10, 2014 for an alleged verification of confession from her then-roommate, Ms. Qi Jianxia. Ms. Qi, who also practices Falun Gong, was arrested on March 27.

Ms. Sun's daughter and her sister went to the police department and requested their loved one be released, but they were refused. The officers were very rude to the women.

Ms. Sun, 49, was arrested on November 21, 2013 with another practitioner Ms. Feng Yanfang, 60, while they were distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials.

Yang Xiaofei, Domestic Security Division head, ransacked Ms. Sun's house. He confiscated a large amount of materials, including Falun Gong books, pamphlets, computers, printers, and other items.

The police estimated the total value of ransacked materials to be 300 thousand yuan. They treated this as a “big case” and highlighted it their superiors.

Interrogation

Ms. Sun and Ms. Feng were taken to the Mohe Police Department, and interrogated around the clock.

Several practitioners from that area were harassed and monitored by police the next day.

The police wouldn't release Ms. Sun and Ms. Feng even when Ms. Sun's daughter went to the police department and requested her mother's release. The two practitioners were taken to Jiagedaqi Detention Center on the evening of November 23, two days after they were arrested.

They were interrogated, detained 38 days and released on December 28.

Two More Practitioners Harassed and Arrested

Police from the Domestic Security Division continued to search for Ms. Meng Fanguang and Ms. Qi Jianxia, two other practitioners associated with Ms. Sun.

Ms. Meng and Ms. Qi were posted online as “Wanted”. The police monitored their day-to-day life, including their cellphone and Internet use, as well as their family and friends' phones and computers.

With continued harassment at home and in their workplace, the two practitioners left home and had to wander about, even during the Chinese New Year, the traditional time for family reunions.

Not long afterward they both found temporary jobs in Shenyang City, in Northeast China. They were arrested again on March 27 at their workplace, by the local police in Shenyang, working in association with officers who came all the way from Heilongjiang Province.

The police found Ms. Meng by monitoring her cellphone, when she made several phone calls to Heilongjiang. They followed her for several days before executing their arrest plan.

Taken Back to Heilongjiang after Detention

The police ransacked both practitioners' apartments, confiscating their laptops, Falun Gong books, and other Falun Gong materials.

A young man, who isn't a Falun Gong practitioner but who came to visit Ms. Meng, was also arrested and detained. He was released a few days later.

Ms. Qi and Ms. Meng were detained at Shenyang Detention Center and Xingshun Police Station, respectively.

They were taken back to Daxinganling in Heilongjiang Province on March 29, by police from Mohe County.

Planning to put them into prison, the police took Ms. Qi and Ms. Meng to the hospital for a health checkup. Ms. Meng didn't pass the exam and was released on bail. Ms. Qi, who passed the health requirements, was taken to Jiagedaqi Detention Center.

Harassment after Release

Ms. Qi was also released later. However, she and Ms. Meng are suffering continued harassment and surveillance: The police have strict control over their personal freedom and they can only live in the Mohe area. They cannot talk to other practitioners. If they need to leave home, they have to report to the police for permission. This is causing both families a lot of hardship and tremendous pressure.
