(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners from Melbourne, Australia, held their weekly photo exhibition on May 31, 2014, in front of the public library, telling people about Falun Gong and how it is being brutally persecuted in China.

Practitioners hung up banners that read “Falun Dafa teaches Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” and “Help to stop the organ harvesting in China.” They also passed out informational materials. Many people stopped by and signed the petition.

Viewing the Falun Gong materials and signing the petition.

Les Gittus, a project manager in West Australia, signed the petition. He condemned the Chinese Communist Party for its brutality: “Just awful! It shouldn't be going on in this day and age.”

He said that the Chinese government is shameless, and he understands why so many Chinese don't want to live in China, and want to migrate to Australia.

Mr. Gittus had seen a similar Falun Gong event in Perth. He was very supportive and said, “The more people, especially Westerners, that know about it the better.” He encouraged the practitioners, noting, “I'm only one person, but if a million people stood up and made a stance, something might happen!”

Venkad, an Indian student, also condemned the suppression of Falun Gong, “This [practice] is a good way to achieve peace in the world. The world feels real pity for governments who carry out such barbaric torture and for those who would do that to their own people!”

Many young people practice Falun Gong in India, where it is promoted by schools and parents.

Venkad knows about Falun Gong and the situation in China quite well. “They are not harming anyone... It's just that they have formed a group and are making their lives better. The Chinese Communist government has many restrictions. People who follow a particular group in the community may be implicated under political scenarios,” he said.

Ms. Lv, the organizer of the exhibition, said that about 20 local practitioners volunteer at the photo exhibition every week. Events are often held in front of the public library, and many people stop by.

“People are very supportive. They sign the petition, and often ask us what else they can do to help. Some of them also bring their friends and family to sign the petition,” said Ms. Lv.

“Although more and more people have learned about the persecution, there are still many Westerners who have never heard about it, especially about the organ harvesting. We will keep it up until the persecution ends."
