(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 2 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 32 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shangzhi, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Ying Tortured to Death

Ms. Peng Yunrong, Ms. Peng Yunxiu, and Ms. Zhao Ying (66) from Yabuli Town were arrested by Chen Qinghua and other officers from the Yabuli Town Police Department when they distributed informational materials about Falun Gong in Shiqili Village on August 14, 2009. They were held at the Shangzhi Detention Center. A year later, the Shangzhi Court sentenced them to three years' imprisonment each. They were taken to the Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison. Ms. Zhao Ying was tortured to death in about a month.

2. [Shanghai] Ms. Lin Damei Detained

Ms. Lin Damei from the Putuo District was arrested by officers from the Jiading Police Station, the Jiading Police Department and the Putuo District Police Department on the morning of May 12, 2014. The police searched her home and took her computer, printer, MP3 player, and Falun Dafa books. Ms. Lin is being held at the Jiading Detention Center.

3. [Qingdao, Shandong Province] Ms. Xia Asu Detained

Ms. Xia Asu from Luodong Community in the Shibei District of Qingdao was arrested by officers from the Zhonghan Police Station when she talked to people about Falun Gong on May 1, 2014. Her home was ransacked. The police away her printer and computer. Ms. Xia is being held at the Pudong Detention Center, Jimo City.

4. [Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Wenzong Detained

Mr. Liu Wenzong had informational materials about Falun Gong in his bag when he was at a security check point in Guangzhou Train Station on the evening of May 18, 2014. He was arrested and is being held at the Guangzhou Railroad Police Station.

5. [Zhangbei County, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Feng'e, in her 50s, and Ms. Yao, a teacher, were arrested by the local domestic security agents for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong and distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on the morning of May 18, 2014.

6. [Zhangbei County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Suzhen and Ms. Wang Fenghua Detained

Ms. Yang Suzhen and Ms. Wang Fenghua were arrested by officers from the Zhangbei Domestic Security Division when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of May 18, 2014. They have been taken to the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou.

7. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Xiaoqin Arrested

Officers from the Fufeng Town Police Station went to Qinghuayuan and arrested Ms. Zhao Xiaoqin on May 8, 2014.

8. [Meizhou, Guangdong Province] Mr. Rao Licong and His Wife Arrested

Mr. Rao Licong and his wife were arrested on April 23, 2014.

9. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Jingxiang Detained

Ms. Wang Jingxiang from the Dongli District was arrested by officers from the Xinlicun Police Station when she talked to people about Falun Gong in Zhangguizhuang Market in Dongli District on May 18, 2014. She is being held at the Xinlicun Police Station.

10. [Shanghai] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wu Liandi and Ms. Huang Guizhen were followed by plainclothes officers when they talked to people about Falun Gong on April 21, 2014. Ms. Wu was arrested at her daughter's home by officers from the Gaoqiao Police Station. Ms. Huang was also arrested and taken to the Zhangjiang Detention Center in Pudong. Ms. Wu has been released. Ms. Huang is still being held.

Officers from the Gaoxing Police Station broke into Ms. Gao Suling's home and took her to the Gaoxing Police Station on April 30, 2014. She was released on May 4, 2014.

11. [Shanghai] Ms. Sun Zhaolin Detained

Ms. Sun Zhaolin was arrested on February 28, 2014. She is being held at the Yangpu District Detention Center.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Xiaoping Arrested

Ms. Wang Xiaoping, 67, lives in Dadongxin Village, Qingyundian Town, the Daxing District, Beijing. She was arrested by officers from the Lixian Police Station when she talked to people about Falun Gong at a market in Lixian Town, Daxing District on May 13, 2014.

13. [Beijing] Mr. Li Menghe and Ms. Ma Guiqing Arrested

Mr. Li Menghe, 70, and Ms. Ma Guiqing, 73, were arrested in Beijing by officers from the Chaoyang District in Beijing on May 19, 2014.

14. [Beijing] Mr. Feng Tizhu's Elderly Brother Detained

Officers from the Liyuan Police Station arrested Mr. Feng Tiezhu's elderly brother and ransacked his home on May 17, 2014. He is being held at the Liyuan Police Station in the Tongzhou District.

15. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Meng Fanzhi Detained

Bao Zhongxiao and other officers from the Kaian Town Police Station climbed over the wall and broke into the home of Ms. Meng Fanzhi on the morning of May 15, 2014. She was taken to the Wugongli Detention Center in Nongan County.

16. [Ningbo, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Dai Cuiying Detained

Ms. Dai Cuiying was arrested by officers from the Ximen Police Station on May 14, 2014. She is being held at the Ningbo Detention Center.

Ms. Bai Guiqin, 60, was arrested by officers from the Cuidong Police Station when she posted informational materials about Falun Gong in Cuidong Community on May 18, 2014. She was taken to a detention center.

18. [Guiyang, Guizhou Province] Mr. Jiang Naiping Detained

Mr. Jiang Naiping from the Baiyun District in Guiyang was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on April 23, 2014. He was arrested by officers from the Babaao Police Station. He is being held at the Xiuwen Detention Center in Guiyang.

19. [Jinan, Shandong Province] Four Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Xu Yuanjiang, Ms. Cai Diyun, Ms. Lin Xiaoyan, and Ms. Liu were followed when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on January 1, 2014. Ms. Lin managed to escape. The other practitioners were arrested.

Ms. Lin was arrested in Shanghai and escorted back to Jinan by the Jinan domestic security agents. She is being held at the Zhonggong Detention Center in Jinan.

20. [Dandong, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Bin Arrested

Mr. Liu Bin was arrested by officers from the Sidao Police Station. He was working at the Agricultural Bank on the morning of May 19, 2014, when it happened. His child was also arrested.

21. [Heshan, Guangdong Province] Two Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Lu Caihua and another practitioner were arrested at the end of April 2014.

22. [Langfang, Hebei Province] Ms. Ren Li Arrested

Ms. Ren Li, 20, was found carrying three pamphlets and banners about Falun Gong in her car when she made a rest stop at a fork in the road on May 6, 2014. The police held her car at the patrol station. Ms. Ren was released during the night.

23. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yuhan Arrested

Six to seven policemen broke into Ms. Liu Yuhan's apartment and arrested her on the afternoon of May 17, 2014. Her other two roommates were also arrested but released during the evening. The police took a laptop, cell phone, cash, bank cards, and other belongings from the apartment.
