Additional Persecution News from China – June 21, 2014 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 10 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Dongling District Court sentenced Ms. Xu Chunxia to four years in prison and Ms. Yu Zhenyan and Ms. Wu Suli each to three years in prison. Ms. Wu was released due to commutation of her sentence.

2. [Tianjin] Ms. Liu Jungai Detained

Ms. Liu Jungai, 71, was arrested and her home was ransacked on the morning of June 19, 2014, for distributing truth-clarification materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Dongli Detention Center.

3. [Tongcheng County, Hubei Province] Ms. Wei Yuexiu Arrested

Ms. Wei Yuexiu was arrested and taken to the Juanshui Police Station on June 17, 2014, for sending truth-clarification letters to officers of the local county government. She was transferred to the Domestic Security Division where the police beat and harassed her. She was released at noon.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lu Fanglan's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Lu Fanglan has gone missing. Her relatives discovered at her home that the picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, computer, and printer had disappeared. They assume that she might have been arrested and the items confiscated by the police.

5. [Luotian County, Hubei Province] Practitioner's Husband Arrested

Ms. Lu Xianmei and her husband went to visit a relative on June 16, 2014. On their way there, someone photographed their motorcycle license plate when they putting up information about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her husband, who is not a practitioner, was arrested.

6. [Xiajin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Shoufeng Sentenced

Mr. Zhang Shoufeng was sentenced to a five-year prison term.

7. [Guangde County, Anhui Province] Mr. Yu Guangping Arrested

Mr. Yu Guangping was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Guangde County Police Department on June 13, 2014.

8. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Sheng Jin, Ms. Wang Chuanju, and Mr. Xu Jinzhen were arrested and taken to the Junan Detention Center by officers from the Junan County 610 Office, and Chen Xin and Yang Guoqiang from the Domestic Security Division on June 16, 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated Mr. Sheng's car, valued at more than 100,000 yuan. Then they took the three practitioners to the Linyi Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Cao Shengfang was arrested at work and taken to the Chengdong Police Station by Chen Xin and Yang Guoqiang the next morning. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Fang Yunxiang Detained

Ms. Fang Yunxiang, 66, was arrested on April 22, 2014, and her home was ransacked. She is being held at the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Li Imprisoned

Ms. Xu Li was arrested for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. She was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Ganjingzi Women's Prison in Dalian City, and transferred from the Dalian Detention Center to the Liaoning Women's Prison on June 17, 2014.

11. [Dongkou County, Hunan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Xiao Jianhao and Ms. Zeng Leyuan are both in their 70s. Mr. Xiao was once sentenced to eight years in prison and and Ms. Zeng to five years. They were arrested by officers from the Huayuan Police Station on June 17, 2014, for posting adhesive stickers with truth-clarification phrases about the persecution of Falun Gong in Huayuan Town. They were taken to the Dongkou County Detention Center. Five officers ransacked their homes that afternoon and confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and other personal items.

12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ping Yanmei Arrested

Ms. Ping Yanmei was arrested at the restaurant she owned on June 20, 2014.

13. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Aiping Arrested

Ms. Zhang Aiping was arrested on June 15, 2014.

14. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Liu Anyu was arrested by officers from the Beijinglu Police Station in Guiyang City around May 29, 2014. His home at Kaiyang was ransacked. His wife and a friend were also arrested.

15. [Wuwei City, Gansu Province] Ms. He Cunmei Arrested and Ms. Tai Meihua's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. He Cunmei was arrested at home by two or three dozen officers from the Liangzhou District Domestic Security Division early on June 19, 2014.

The whereabouts of Ms. Tai Meihua, who lives in the same village as Ms He, is unknown.

16. [Taihe County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Luo Chunfang Detained

Ms. Luo Chunfang was arrested at home on May 29, 2014. She is being held at the Taihe County Detention Center.

Ms. Ding Meiying and Mr. Zhang Zhengquan were arrested by officers from the Sicheng Town Police Station in Si County on June 19, 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. Mr. Zhang is being held in the Si County Detention Center and Ms. Ding in Suzhou Detention Center.

18. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Teacher Huang Xiao Detained

Ms. Huang Xiao, a teacher from the Lianyungang City Normal Technological College, was arrested by Lianyungang City officers on May 28, 2014, for talking to students about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer and cell phone. She is being held at the Lianyungang City Detention Center.

19. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Ms. Sun Wenying Arrested

Ms. Sun Wenying, 72, was arrested by officers from the Guangminglu Police Station on the afternoon of May 14, 2014. The police ransacked her home. The Pingdingshan City Detention Center refused to accept her because she did not pass the physical. The police had to release her.

The police recently tried to have her pay 600 yuan at a hospital for a physical. She refused to comply. Officers from the Guangminglu Police Station have harassed her many times.
