Additional Persecution News from China – June 13, 2014 (22 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Shengqi's Five-Year Prison Sentence Sustained

Mr. Zhang Shengqi, an owner of an antique shop, was arrested on May 3, 2013, and sentenced to 5 years in prison early in 2014. He appealed to the Yantai Intermediate Court, which sustained the original verdict. Mr. Zhang is being held in Jinan Prison.

2. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pei Arrested

Ms. Pei, 77, was reported to the police and arrested by Sanli Police Station officers on the morning of May 21, 2014, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in the Songyuan Residential Quarters.

Officers ransacked her home that afternoon and confiscated two Falun Gong books, two photos of Falun Gong founder Mr. Li Hongzhi, over 120 yuan with imprinted messages about Falun Gong, and over ten informational brochures about Falun Gong.

Ms. Pei was released that afternoon.

3. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Tong Detained

Ms. Li Tong was arrested on June 6, 2014, and taken to the Caibei Detention Center.

4. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Sufang and Ms. Xue Cuiguo Detained

Ms. Zhang Sufang and Ms. Xue Cuiguo were arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning of June 6, 2014, for distributing flyers about Falun Gong. They are being held in the Yancheng Detention Center.

5. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhao Ronghua and Others Detained

Ms. Zhao Ronghua and other practitioners were arrested in a suburban county at the beginning of June 2014. They are being held in secret in Xuchang City.

6. [Hu County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Xiaohui and Her Sister Ms. Xiaoyan Arrested

Ms. Xiaohui and her sister, Ms. Xiaoyan, were arrested by local officers on June 9, 2014, for informing people about Falun Gong in Zaoan, Hu County. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Xiaoyan managed to escape.

7. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Juwu Detained

Mr. Zhang Juwu and his wife, a non-practitioner, were arrested at their workplace by Qiaoguan Town Police Station officers on June 11, 2014. The arrest was directed by the Changle County 610 Office. Their home was searched, and a Falun Gong book and their cell phones were confiscated.

Ms. Zhang's wife was released around noon that day. Mr. Zhang is being held in the Qiaoguan Town Police Station.

8. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Rao Licong and Her Husband Arrested

Ms. Rao Licong and her husband, Mr. Feng Shaoyong, from Meizhou City were arrested in Shenzhen City on April 23, 2014. They are now released after being held in the Xili Brainwashing Center in Shenzhen for one month.

9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yan Min, Her Son and Daughter-in-Law Sentenced to Prison

The Jinniu District Court sentenced Ms. Yan Min; her son, Mr. Sun Yang; and her daughter-in-law on the morning of June 10, 2014. Ms. Yan was sentenced to 3½ years in prison, her son to 14 months, and her daughter-in-law to 14 months with 2 years of probation.

10. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Guolian and Ms. Yao Donghong Detained

Huang Zuhua, the deputy director of the Chikan District Political and Legal Affairs Committee and a principal member of the Chikan District 610 Office, and officers from the Potou District arrested Ms. Chen Guolian and Ms. Yao Donghong. They confiscated Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs and other items. Ms. Chen and Ms. Yao were taken to a brainwashing center.

11. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Feng Caifeng Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

The Leizhou Court sentenced Ms. Feng Caifeng in secret to 5 years in prison on June 5, 2014.

12. [Guilin City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Chen Yifei Detained

Ms. Chen Yifei was arrested for talking about Falun Gong near Lipu County on June 9, 2014. She was taken to the Lipu Detention Center. Her home was ransacked and two printers and a computer were confiscated.

13. [Hongan County, Hubei Province] Ms. Yu Hongping and Ms. Chen Yilian Detained

Ms. Yu Hongping and Ms. Chen Yilian were arrested by director Jiang and officers from the Xinghua Township Police Station for talking about Falun Gong on June 11, 2014. Ms. Yu's home was ransacked. Books, informational materials about Falun Gong, and 300 yuan with messages about Falun Gong printed on them were confiscated. Two practitioners were taken to the Xinghua Township Police Station.

14. [Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Yaping Arrested

Ms. Zhou Yaping went out to raise awareness of Falun Gong on June 10, 2014. She was arrested by Dongsheng Police Station officers and taken to the station. They confiscated several hundred yuan with messages about Falun Gong on them from Ms. Zhou. She managed to escape from the police station, and her whereabouts are unknown.

15. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Shuping and Ms. Pan Yuerong Detained

Ms. Sun Shuping and Ms. Pan Yuerong were arrested and taken to the Dangyu Police Station for informing people about the facts about Falun Gong in Dangyu Town Farmers Market in Zunhua on June 7, 2014. They were transferred to the Zunhua Detention Center that afternoon.

16. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Jianzhen Detained

Ms. Li Jianzhen, 53, was arrested for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on June 12, 2014. Her house key was snatched. Her Falun Gong books, photos of Falun Gong founder Mr. Li, and other items were confiscated from her home. She is being held in the Wendeng Detention Center.

17. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Dongping Arrested

Ms. Wang Dongping was reported to the police and subsequently arrested for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs in Wuchang on June 11, 2014. Her whereabouts are unknown.

18. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zheng Yaqin and Ms. Liu Yingchun Arrested

Ms. Zheng Yaqin from the Hongshan District and Ms. Liu Yingchun from the Songshan District were arrested on June 8, 2014.

Mr. Sun Wenqing was arrested by officers from Lunan Police Station in the Laobian District for explaining the facts about Falun Gong on June 9, 2014. He is being held in the Yingkou Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Zhanying and Ms. Gao Dehua from Zhang Village were arrested by officers from the Shuangdao Boarder Defense Police Station for talking about Falun Gong on June 12, 2014. They were taken to the Weihai Detention Center for a 15-day term.

Ms. Fu Li and Ms. Yue from the Yangjiazhangzi Development Zone were arrested by officers from the Maoqitun Police Station for talking about Falun Gong in the Maoqitun Market on June 11, 2014. They were taken to Huludao City.
