(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Guilan went to pick up her son at Jilin Prison on the scheduled release day, but she and her son were illegally arrested by the local 610 Office and detained for 7 days. The police threatened her, and told her not to speak about what happened. They said if this was published on Minghui, they would assume she talked.
Premeditated Arrest
Mr. Wang Xiaohu was supposed to be released from Jilin Prison on April 22. His mother Ms. Wang Guilan, in her 70s, went to pick him up that morning.
When his mother got there, a prison officer pointed at a notebook, and said the release date was April 23. She was told to come back at 8 a.m. the next day.
When Ms. Wang showed up at the prison at 7 a.m. the following day, she saw that police from the Huadian 610 Office and Jilin Domestic Security Division were waiting for her. She later learned that they had been there for 2 hours. Three police cars were parked outside the prison, and 8 or 9 people were standing at the prison gate.
They asked the mother if she was picking up someone or visiting someone. She said she was picking up her son, Mr. Wang Xiaohu. They brought her to a room in the prison, and said Mr. Wang had already been taken by the Huadian 610 Office.
Ms. Wang became very angry. She yelled at them and walked out of the room. As soon as she walked out of the prison gate, several police officers grabbed her and shoved her into a car which had no license plate. They also arrested several other practitioners that had accompanied her, including Sun Fengqin, Liu Yuhua, Li Shixia and others.
Detained for 7 Days
Yang Baolin, the head of Huadian 610 Office, wanted to force Mr. Wang to renounce his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Mr. Wang said, “I never signed this paper in the more than 11 years I was imprisoned, why do you think I'll sign it now?”
The mother and the son were released after being detained by the 610 Office for 7 days. When they were being released, the police threatened them not to speak about what happened.
