Additional Persecution News from China – June 2, 2014 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 11 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Six Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

Officers from the Shishou City 610 Office and the Gaoling Town Police Station, under the direction of the Jingzhou City 610 Office, took six practitioners from Gaoling Town to a brainwashing center on the morning of May 28, 2014.

The six practitioners are: Ms. Luo Xingzhang, Ms. Wang Hexiang, and Ms. Wang Guangyuan, all in their 50s; Ms. Chen Zhongxiu and Ms. Zhang, in their 60s; and Ms. Tan Xianying.

2. [Xi County, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Jicheng Arrested

Mr. Wang Jicheng, about 60, from Chenpeng Township was forced to leave home and move frequently to avoid further persecution for quite some time. He was arrested about two months ago.

3. [Huangchuan County, Henan Province] Mr. Yang Dehua Arrested

Mr. Yang Dehua, over 40, from Pengdian Village, Baidian Township, was arrested on the morning of May 29, 2014.

4. [Shanghai] Mr. Tong Xilin Arrested

Mr. Tong Xilin was arrested at home on May 30, 2014.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Tang Baozhi Detained

Ms. Tang Baozhi, in her 50s, from Zhejiang Province was arrested and taken to the Putuo District Detention Center on the evening of May 30, 2014.

6. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Ying, Ms. Qin Ying, Aifeng (female), and Ms. Mao from Tiemen Township were arrested and taken to the Macheng City No.2 Detention Center by officers from the Songbu Police Station on May 31, 2014, for telling people about Falun Gong.

7. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Huang Yuanju Arrested

Ms. Huang Yuanju was arrested locally for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on May 31, 2014. It is not known where she is being held.

8. [Jing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Du Hongyue and Ms. Du Hongyun Arrested

Ms. Du Hongyue and Ms. Du Hongyun were arrested on June 1, 2014.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Zhenli and Mr. Wang Yonggang Remain in Custody

Mr. Wang Yonggang from Xingou Town in the Dongxihu District was taken away from the Jinghe Detention Center by officers from 610 Office on May 30, 2014. His whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Liu Zhenli was arrested and taken to the Wuhan City No.1 Detention Center on March 5, 2014, for posting facts about Falun Gong on March 3, 2014.

10. [Zaoqiang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Hongguo Arrested

Mr. Zhang Hongguo, his wife, and their daughter were arrested on the morning of May 30, 2014.

11. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

On May 15, 2014, the Horqin District Court sentenced Ms. Liu Xiurong and Ms. Zhang Ping to four years and Mr. Song Bingfu to two years in prison.

12. [Linxia City, Gansu Province] Ms. Jia Weilan and Ms. Tao Fang Arrested

Officers form the Linxia City Police Department who were staked out in front of Ms. Jia Weilan's home on the morning of May 30, 2014, arrested her when she returned home. They ransacked 65-year-old Ms. Jia's home and took 1,000 yuan in cash, over 60 copies of Dafa books, and about 300 DVDs that clarify the facts about Falun Gong.

Ms. Tao Fang, about 55, happened to come for a visit and was also arrested. Both women were taken to the Linxia City Police Department. They were released and taken home by their families around 11:30 p.m. that night.

13. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gao Xianying and Ms. Luo Lingrong Arrested

Ms. Gao Xianying and Ms. Luo Lingrong were arrested by officers from the Qiancao Police Station on May 23, 2014. Ms. Gao was released that night. Ms. Luo was taken to the Naxi Detention Center.

A few days later, officers from the Jiangyang District 610 Office arrested Ms. Gao at her home. They tried to get her admitted to a detention center, but she failed to pass the physical and was released. She is now living at home under police surveillance.

14. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Yutang and Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhang Yutang; his wife, Ms. Zhang Cuixia; and another practitioner were arrested in rental homes in Mudanjiang City by Li Xuejun and other officers from the Mudanjiang Domestic Security Division on the evening of April 3, 2014. Officers ransacked their homes and took more than 100 copies of Dafa books, a notebook computer, a computer, more than 1,570 yuan in cash, three bank cards, and personal identification cards.

Ms. Zhang Cuixia was detained for 27 days. She was released on April 30 2014. Mr. Zhang Yutang is being held in the Mudanjiang No. 1 Detention Center.

15. [Luobie County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Hongrong and Ms. Zhang Guilan Arrested

Mr. Zhao Hongrong and Ms. Zhang Guilan from the Baoquanling area were arrested on the afternoon of April 20, 2014. The police ransacked the home of Mr. Zhao's sister, where Mr. Zhao was staying. There was only a child at home at the time.

The police took a dozen copies of Dafa books, two portraits of the founder of Falun Gong, 1,500 yuan in cash, and a notebook computer. The police also took five cellphones and 900 yuan Mr. Zhao had in his bag, and a bike.

16. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Mother and Two Daughters Persecuted

Ms. Wei Xiuying and her two daughters, Ms. Zhao Hong and Ms. Zhao Bing, were arrested on April 17, 2009. The police gave each of them a bowl of noodles at dinner time.

The mother ate half of the noodles and stopped when she sensed they didn't taste right. Her daughter, Ms. Zhao Bing, finished them.

A few days later, the mother was not able to talk, a condition that lasted for over a year. Her daughter became mentally unstable, could not recognize people, and was unable to manage her daily life.
