Seven Practitioners Arrested in Qidong County During April

(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners from Qidong County, Hengyang City, Hunan Province were illegally arrested during April of this year. Seven remain in police custody.

Police officers from the county State Security Ministry, 610 Office, and Guoshuiping Township Police Station arrested Ms. Chen Xiaohui and Ms. Chen Yan on the morning of April 14, 2014, and ransacked their home.

Ms. Cao Cuiyun was arrested at her home in Chenglianxu Village, Qidong County, while doing laundry, at around noon on April 13, 2014, by officers from the county's State Security Ministry and 610 Office.

Officers from the Buyunqiao Police Station surrounded Mr. Kuang Sen's home on the morning of April 8, and arrested him as soon as he stepped out of the door. When he refused to get into the car, the police beat him in broad daylight, until a passerby spoke up in his support.

Mr. Kuang was taken to the police station and interrogated. He was escorted back to his residence, where police confiscated many of his personal belongings, including truth clarifying materials about Falun Gong and a computer. Mr. Kuang is being held at the county detention center. The police also harassed his wife and threatened to arrest her.

Ms. Zhou Guilan and Ms. Guan Yuxiang were arrested while clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to passersby on April 9, 2014. A few plainclothes police officers monitored them from a taxi before making the arrest. Since both are employees of the Qingshuitang Lead and Zinc Mine, they were taken to the Lead and Zinc Mine Police Station.

Ms. Xiao Yuanyun was arrested on April 9 by officers from the Buyunqiao Police Station. She is being held at the county detention center.
