Additional Persecution News from China – May 13, 2014 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 10 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yichun, Heilongjiang Province] Two Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wu Fengkun and Ms. Wu Fengbo were arrested when they distributed Falun Gong materials on the afternoon of May 11, 2014.

2. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Four Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced

The Jiangxia District Court in Wuhan sentenced Ms. Wu Mei, Ms. Sun Zuying, and Mr. Hu Dongsheng to five years' imprisonment. Ms. Liu Jinzhi was sentenced to three and a half years. They have appealed to the Intermediate Court.

3. [Yanji, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhao Yonglu Detained

Mr. Zhao Yonglu, a practitioner of Korean ethnicity in his 60s, was arrested when he went out and talked to people about Falun Gong on the night of April 23, 2014. He is being held at the Yanji Criminal Detention Center where he is facing an illegal sentence.

4. [Zhongjing County, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners' Homes Ransacked

Huang Ying, Mao Xingwen, and a dozen police officers from the Zhongjiang Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Zheng Yongxiu's home on the morning of April 18, 2014. They confiscated her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, and other items. Ms. Zheng was taken to the Xuanwu Police Station. The police pressured her to sign the Three Statements to give up her practice of Falun Gong, which she refused to do.

The police also went to search Ms. Tang Haizhen's home the same morning and found nothing.

Ms. Jiang Zhixiu was arrested when she handed an informational brochure about Falun Gong to a plainclothes policeman on the morning of April 24, 2014. The police ransacked her home and took pictures of Master Li, the founder of Falun Gong, and other belongings.

5. [Chifeng, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Sun Zhifang Detained

Ms. Sun Zhifang from Baarin Left Banner was arrested on a train when she went home from Huhhot on May 10, 2014. The MP3 player she carried was taken away. She is being held at the Baarin Left Banner Detention Center.

6. [Jinsha County, Guizhou Province] Police Forcibly Drew Blood from a Practitioner

Yao Yi and other officers from the Shatu Police Station broke into Ms. Xiong Tianbi's home in Zhenxing Community, Shatu Town, on May 9, 2014. They drew her blood without her consent. Ms. Xiong was forced to become homeless and destitute.

7. [Shihezi, Xinjiang] Four Female Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested

Four female Falun Gong practitioners were reported and arrested by the local police when they went to Manasi County to clarify the facts and distribute materials about Falun Gong on May 7, 2014.

8. [Shaodong County, Hunan Province] Ms. He Benxiang Harassed

Chief Long Yanyun and officers from the Shaodong Domestic Security Division went to monitor Ms. He Benxiang's home and harass her on May 10, 2014.

Zhao Baye from neighborhood committee and three plainclothes officers went to Ms. He's home to harass her on April 25, 2014. Ms. He was not there.

9. [Guantao County, Hebei Province] Two Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Fangzhai Town Police Station arrested Ms. Yang Qing and Ms. Gao on May 12, 2014. Their homes were searched.
