Additional Persecution News from China – May 17, 2014 (23 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 17 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhu Jinrui Tortured to Death

Ms. Zhu Jinrui, 45, was sentenced to a four-year prison term in 2013 and was incarcerated in Beian Prison. She was persecuted to death on the evening of May 6, 2014. Her family was told by the prison officials that she died of a heart attach. However, it is suspected that she was beaten to death because there was blood in her mouth.

2. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Li Xiaoqi Detained

Mr. Li Xiaoqi was arrested at home on May 14, 2014, for watching the Shen Yun Performing Arts show. He was taken to the Yanta District Zhangbaxincun Police Station.

3. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Ma Wenfeng, Ms. Wang Wei, and Mr. Zhu Qing were arrested on the evening of May 13, 2014, for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. The police later ransacked their homes and confiscated two cars, Falun Gong books, Falun Gong informational materials, and three computers. Mr. Ma and Mr. Zhu are being held at the Linghaiju Detention Center, and Ms. Wang at the Jinzhou Detention Center.

4. [Anyue County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Leng Jiafu Arrested

Mr. Leng Jiafu was arrested on the morning of May 8, 2014.

7. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Appeal Denied Facing the Original Sentence

Mr. Guo Yanda, Mr. Ji Deguang, Ms. Jiao Guizhen, and Mr. Wu Shiwei were sentenced, respectively, to ten years, five years, four years, and five years in prison in 2012, . They appealed to the Yingkou City Intermediate Court, which upheld the original decisions.

Mr. Guo, Mr. Ji, and Ms. Jiao were taken to the prison on May 13, 2014. Mr. Wu's lawyer accused the judicial officers of persecuting his clients.

8. [Qujing City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Pu Emei Arrested

Ms. Pu Emei was arrested on May 12, 2014.

9. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ruihu Harassed

Ms. Wang Ruihu was harassed several times by officers from the local police station. In addition, the police tracked her phone calls and monitored her, They were collecting information about her Falun Gong activities because they intended to arrest her.

Ms. Wan Ling was recently arrested at home and taken to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center.

11. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Fan Yali Detained

Ms. Fan Yali is being held at the No. 1 Detention Center.

12. [Meihekoushi City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Mingjuan Arrested

Ms. Wang Mingjuan was arrested on May 10, 2014, for making Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials.

13. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Dong Chen, Ms. Zeng Fangfang, Ms. Yu Xiaohong, and Ms. Sun Yuling were arrested on May 13, 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

14. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Hualian Arrested

Ms. Yang Hualian was arrested at home and taken to the Guanghan City Court by Yang Bin and Yang Xiangji from the local Domestic Security Division on the morning of May 15, 2014. After being sentenced, she was taken to the Longquanyi Women's Prison in Chengdu City.

15. [Xilinhot City, Inner Mongolia] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Fengying and Ms. Wang were arrested at work on the afternoon of May 14, 2014. Ms. Wang returned home at approximately 11 p.m.

16. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Wang Sanheng and Ms. Wang Tao were arrested and taken to the Wugongli Detention Center on May 13, 2014. They were interrogated until approximately 1 a.m. Officers from the Kaian Police Station and Helong Police Station later ransacked their homes.

They confiscated from Mr. Wang's home a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, 40 Falun Gong books, 180 Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials and DVDs, and three cell phones.

From Ms. Wang's home, they confiscated approximately 10,000 yuan, three printers, a burner, three computers, a tablet computer, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, four pictures of Falun, and blank disks.

Mr. Wang was taken to Nongan Detention Center and Ms. Wang to Changchun No. 3 Detention Center.

17. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Detained

Mr. Chen Shaoyun and another practitioner were arrested at his home by Bi Zhongxu and three officers from the Wolongshan Police Station on the morning of May 16, 2014. They confiscated Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong.

Mr. Chen was taken to the Wolongshan Police Station first and later to the Weihai City Detention.

Ms. Shen Yunlan was arrested on May 13, 2014. Her whereabouts are unknown.

19. [Zhongjiang County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Qi Xiaoping Arrested

Mr. Qi Xiaoping was arrested on May 15, 2014. The police took the keys to his home and ransacked it.

The police ransacked Mr. Song Hongde's home on May 12, 2014.

21. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Yu Shuxia's Home Ransacked

Five officers including Liu Caijun from the Domestic Security Division of the Wengniuteqi Police Department broke into Ms. Yu Shuxia's home on the morning of May 15, 2014. They confiscated Falun Gong books, materials and DVDs about the persecution of Falun Gong, a radio, and other personal items.

22. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yufeng Arrested

Ms. Wang Yufeng was recently arrested.

23. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Ms. Tan Jiaoxiu Detained

Ms. Tan Jiaoxiu, 73, is being held at the Qidong County Detention Center.
