Additional Persecution News from China – May 5, 2014 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 16 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Longjiang County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Yunping Officially Placed Under Arrest

Ms. Fu Yunping was arrested by the Longjiang County Domestic Security Division for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on March 11, 2014. She is being held in the Qiqihar City Detention Center. Recently, word came from the detention center that Ms. Fu had officially been placed under arrest. The authorities wanted to schedule a trial on her.

2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liang Zi and Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Liang Zi and two other practitioners from the Daoli District were arrested by the Hebai Police Station for studying the Falun Gong teachings at a practitioner's home on the morning of May 4, 2014. The police received reports from one of the practitioners' family members.

3. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Ding Zuhua Arrested and Released the Following Day

Mr. Ding Zuhua from Yugou Town, the Huiyin District, was arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Wuji Town on the afternoon of April 3, 2014. Jiang Yusheng, an officer from the Wuji Town Police Station, took him to the police station. The police then ransacked his home and took Falun Gong books and informational materials. Mr. Ding was released on the afternoon of April 4, 2014.

4. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Xiu'e and Her Mother Arrested

Ms. Huang Xiu'e and her mother were arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong. They are being held in the Miaotou Police Station.

5. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Yuxian, Ms. Ma Hongjiao, and Ms. Dong were arrested and detained for 15 days for telling others about Falun Gong. At the end of the 15-day detention, before their families came to meet them, Hadawan Police Station officers took Ms. Liu and Ms. Dong to Ms. Liu's home in a police vehicle and ransacked the place. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and other personal belongings.

6. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] List of Practitioners Held in Shenyang Women's Prison

The following is an incomplete list of practitioners, with lengths of their prison terms, who are being held in the Shenyang Women's Prison: Ms. Liu Mei (刘梅), 13 years, imprisoned since November 2002 Ms. Wang Chunhua (王春华), 7 years and 6 months, imprisoned since August 2010 Ms. Wang Fuhua (王福华), 7 years, imprisoned since August 2010 Ms. Liu Pintong ( 刘品彤), 8 years, imprisoned since November 2012 Ms. Zhang Jing (张 静), 3 years, imprisoned since November 2012 Ms. Zhang Yinghong (张迎红), 7 years, imprisoned since November 2012 Ms. Zhou Gongqing (周公清), 3 years, imprisoned since November 2012 Ms. Sun Guiqing (孙桂清), 3 years, imprisoned since the second half of 2013 Ms. Sun Guiling (孙桂玲), 3 years, imprisoned since the second half of 2013 Ms. Guo Yunlan (郭运兰), 3 years, imprisoned since August 2013 Ms. Teng Xiuling (滕秀玲), 3 years, imprisoned since November 2013

7. [Qionglai City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gao Fengqin Detained

Ms. Gao Fengqin was arrested on the afternoon of November 12, 2013. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Tudipo Detention Center.

8. [Tianjin] Mr. Hao Yin Forced to Leave Town and His Wife Detained

Mr. Hao Yin from Ji County was arrested by the Luozhuangzi Police Station on the evening of April 29, 2014. He escaped from the police station that night. He had to leave home and go from place to place to avoid further persecution.

Mr. Hao's wife, Ms. Gao Yan'e, was subsequently arrested. She is being held in the Ji County Detention Center. The police took the couple's car, cell phones, computer, printer and other personal belongings.

9. [Pi County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Rui Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Rui was tried on April 28, 2014. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison by Pi County Court. Similar to the trial that took place on April 9, when four practitioners were sentenced to three years in prison, the judge also read the allegation very quickly and finished the trial in about 10 minutes without giving the attorney any chance to defend Mr. Zhang.

Only two of Mr. Zhang's relatives were allowed to attend the trial, all the others that were in the courtroom were plainclothes police officers.
