Additional Persecution News from China – May 10, 2014 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 12 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 30 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Facing Trial

Ms. Xu Chunxia, Ms. Yu Zhenyan, and Ms. Wu Shuli are facing trial in the Dongling District Court in Shenyang City on May 16, 2014.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Yuqin and Ms. Meng Jiying Detained

Ms. Zhang Yuqin and Ms. Meng Jiying were arrested on May 7, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at the Daxing District Railway Station. They were put under criminal detention.

3. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Tang Fengjie Detained

Ms. Tang Fengjie, 73, was arrested by officers from the Lingyin Police Station of the Xihu District Police Department on May 2, 2014. She is being held at the Hangzhou Detention Center at Renhe Town.

4. [Sheyang County, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wu Hongyu Arrested

Ms. Wu Hongyu, 67, was arrested at home by officers from the Sheyang County Domestic Security Division on the morning of May 8, 2014. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books.

5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Sun Guofang Taken to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center

Ms. Sun Guofang, 76, was harassed at home by four officers from the local police station on May 3, 2014. The police arrested and took her to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center on May 7, 2014.

6. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Yunjiu Detained

Ms. Li Yunjiu was arrested at home by Ji Huitian, an officer from the Pengzhou City 610 Office, director Yin from the Dongjie Residence Committee, and officers from the Tianpeng Police Station on the afternoon of May 7, 2014. Her home was ransacked. The police demanded that Ms. Li's husband make a report and sign it, but he refused. Ms. Li is now in a detention center.

7. [Mountains, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Dongfeng Arrested

Ms. Wang Dongfeng, 49, was arrested on the morning of May 7, 2014.

8. [Liyang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wu Shan Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wu Shan, in her 80s, was recently arrested and taken to a brainwashing center.

9. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners and a Non-Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Wang Lixin, Ms. Jiang Shuyun, Ms. Pu Suhua, Ms. Wang Xinhua, and Mr. Huang Youchen were arrested in Dongchuan Town, Kuancheng County, Chengde City, by officers from the Dongchuan Town Police Station on May 8, 2014, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. They were later taken to the detention center of the Kuancheng County Police Department. Their driver, Mr. Wang Zhihui, a non-practitioner, was arrested, too.

Mr. Huang was released that evening. Ms. Wang Lixin was released after the Kuancheng County Police Department officers extorted 4,800 yuan from her husband.

10. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Dong Hanjie, Ms. Gao Chunlian, Ms. Wang Yun, Ms. Yan Xiuxiang, Mr. Zhang Haiyang, and Ms. Lu Guifen were arrested on February 25, 2014. Mr. Dong and Mr. Zhang are being held at the Zhuozhou City Detention Center and the female practitioners at the Qingyuan Detention Center in Baoding City.

Mr. Dong, Ms. Wang, and Mr. Zhang went on hunger strikes for 12 days to protest the persecution. They were taken to the Erkang Hospital for force-feeding.

11. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Fu Guoqi Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Mr. Fu Guoqi was arrested at night by officers from the Wuhan City Police Department and the Caijiazui Community on the evening of April 28, 2014. He was taken to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center.

The police ransacked his home on May 8, 2014, and confiscated Falun Gong books and personal items.

Mr. Fu was almost blinded because of torture in detention.

12. [Wanyuan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Hu Weidong Secretly Tried

Mr. Hu Weidong was secretly put on a trial on May 8, 2014.

13. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Guangwei Tortured

Mr. Chen Guangwei, 77, was recently indicted by the Penglai Court. The police harassed his family, ransacked their home, and arrested him repeatedly.

14. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Ying Tortured

Ms. Xu Ying was arrested at work and taken to the Hailin Police Department by officers from the Hailin City Domestic Security Division and Criminal Police Division on March 17, 2014. She was transferred to the Forestry Bureau Detention Center that afternoon because she refused to write a guarantee statement.

Ms. Xu was sentenced to a year and a half of forced labor in October 2012. In the Harbin Forced Labor Camp, she was forced to sit on an iron chair, was deprived of sleep, and had her term extended. She was released on August 17, 2013.

15. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Three Dozen Practitioners Persecuted

Three dozen practitioners were arrested and their homes were ransacked by officers from the Tianshui City Police Department, the Beidao District Police Department, and the Qinzhou District Police Department on December 28, 2013.

Ms. Guo Jirong, 70, was put in handcuffs and her home was ransacked.

Ms. Ma Xiaojuan, born in 1957, is being held at the Gangu County Detention Center in Tianshui City. Her husband was repeatedly interrogated by the police.

Ms. Zhang Cuiping, a doctor, was arrested as she was working overtime after her night shift. She was taken to her home, and the police ransacked it. She was then taken to the local criminal police division for interrogation.

Ms. Zhang's brother, Mr. Zhang Zhiming, born in 1976, was arrested on the way to his office by several plainclothes officers in the early morning. He was once sentenced to a five-year prison term by the Hutubi City Court and released in January 2011.

Mr. Mr. Qiao Wencheng, born in 1968, was arrested at home by eight officers including Du Li from the local Domestic Security Division. The police confiscated his Falun Gong books, a laptop computer, cell phones, and paper bills with messages about the persecution of Falun Gong printed on them. His elderly father was left on his own.

Officer Du Li and four others ransacked the home of Ms. Wang Lixia's parents. They confiscated a computer, a DVD player, and Ms. Wang's ID and residence certificate. She has left home to avoid further persecution.

Ms. Li Cuifang's store was ransacked and the police confiscated approximately 20,000 yuan and bankbooks.

Other Practitioners Facing Persecution:

Ms. Xiao Yanhong, born in 1964, is being held at the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center in Lanzhou City. Ms Tang Qiong, born in 1972, was once sentenced to a 12-year in prison. As a result, her family disassociated themselves from her. She was released several years ago. Ms. Xia Yanling, born in 1967, is from the Maiji District, Zhongtan Town. Ms Li Cuifang, born in 1944, is an owner of a small store. Mr. Zhu Kaihong, born in 1967, is an employee of the Maiji District Industrial and Commercial Bank. Mr. Li Yikui, born in 1949, is from the Maiji District. Mr. Wang Minghui, born in 1949, is from the Maiji District, Zhongtan Town. Ms. Zhao Fuzhen was arrested in Lanzhou City and later taken to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center.
