(Minghui.org) On May 10, Falun Gong practitioners from Vancouver, Canada participated in the May Day parade in Port Coquitlam. The mayor of Port Coquitlam Greg Moore was glad to see the Falun Gong group again. He praised practitioners for contributing to the community: “You can see Falun Dafa everywhere.”
The May Day parade, with 91 years of history, is one of the oldest community parades in British Columbia. More than 90 groups participated in the parade this year, and around 10,000 people watched it.

The Falun Gong entry consisted of the Divine Land Marching Band, a waist drum team, a float, and an exercise demonstration team. Their performances were warmly welcomed by the spectators. Some Chinese people shouted: “Falun Dafa is good.”
When the Falun Gong procession went by, parade host Ms. Battle told the spectators that Falun Gong, a traditional Chinese cultivation practice, improves both body and mind.
Shirley Dunford, President of Legion 133 of the Great War Veterans Association, and Pauline McKenna, Vice President, were glad to see such a large Chinese group participating in the community event.
Ms. Dunford said that the goal of this parade is to demonstrate harmony in the community. Falun Gong practitioners contributed to this event and displayed the spirit of Canada. She also praised the practitioners' performances.
Ms. McKenna was amazed to see so many seniors in the waist drum team. “They are energetic. This is great. We have many senior people in the community. Falun Gong practitioners are an encouragement to them,” she said.
Ms. Huang, a Chinese tourist, was surprised to see so many Falun Gong practitioners in Canada. “You've done very well. As a Chinese, I am proud of you,” she said.
