(Minghui.org) Mr. Xin Lianfu, a retired teacher from Wushan Town, Anqiu, died as a result of the persecution on March 18, 2014, at the age of 72. Mr. Xin and his wife were both illegally sentenced to seven years in prison.
Between May 18 and June 8, 2010, officers from Anqiu City Police Department arrested 46 Falun Dafa practitioners and held them in the Danshan Brainwashing Center. The practitioners were tortured and forced to undergo brainwashing. The guards also extorted money from them.
Mr. Xin and his wife, Ms. Zhai Xiuying, were arrested on May 25, 2010. The police ransacked their home and confiscated their pension cards, computer equipment, and other personal belongings.
Mr. Xin and his wife were severely harmed physically and mentally while they were waiting to be sentenced. They failed the physicals and health assessments twice at Weifang Hospital.
They were nevertheless sentenced to seven years in prison in October 2010 and transferred to the Shandong Province Prison.
While in prison, Mr. Xin was diagnosed with extremely high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes. When he was not even able to walk, he was released on medical parole. The police harassed Mr. Xin after he was out on parole. He passed away on March 18, 2014.
