Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Dai Zhenzhu, from Fuzhou, Nanping City, Fujian Province, was arrested in Xiamen in February 2014, and is still being illegally detained. She had gone to Xiamen in February 2014 to visit her daughter, who works there.
While Ms. Dai was in Xiamen, she called her friends Ms. Lin Meifang and Ms. Zhang Shuilian back home in Nanping City. The Chinese authorities had tapped the phone, and was monitoring the call.
The three practitioners were arrested on February 21-23. Ms. Dai was arrested in Xiamen, and Ms. Lin and Ms. Zhang were arrested in Fuzhou. Ms. Wang Zhumei, in Fuzhou, Nanping City, was also arrested.
Agents from the Fujian Province and Fuzhou City 610 Office targeted the practitioners, who were clarifying the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong using telephones. They monitored the practitioners' calls, and arrested and interrogated them.
Ms. Lin, Ms. Zhang, and Ms. Wang were released on March 28. Ms. Dai is still incarcerated in Xiamen.
