(Minghui.org) From the evening of March 20 to the morning of March 21, 2014, officers from Huangzhou District Police Department harassed and arrested five Falun Gong practitioners in Huanggang City, Hubei Province. Ms. Du Jinxiang, Ms. Zhou Jianxiang, and Ms. Song Guifen are still being detained in Huanggang City Second Detention Center.
The arrests were initiated by Wan Huiya and Du Zhao, captain and deputy captain of the Domestic Security Division of the Huangzhou District Police Department. Officers from the city 610 Office and local community officials were also involved.
The five practitioners arrested were Ms. Du Jinxiang, who is in her 50s and lives in the Huangzhou District; Ms. Zhou Jianxiang, in her 40s; Ms. Song Guifen, who is in her 50s and works in the city post office; Ms. Xu Xiulan, in her 40s; and Mr. Dai Youyuan, who is in his 70s.
Ms. Zhou, Ms. Song, Ms. Xu, and Mr. Dai were all arrested in the morning on March 21. Their homes were ransacked and their belongings including Falun Dafa materials were confiscated. The police pried open the doors of some of the practitioners before barging into their homes.
Ms. Xu was released that night because she was unwell, and her family strongly protested her arrest. Mr. Dai refused to cooperate with the police. During a struggle, the 70-year-old man fell down and his family had to take him to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Ms. Du, Ms. Zhou, Mr. Dai, and Ms. Song Have Been Persecuted Before
Officers from Huangzhou Police Department Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Zhou when she was working in her restaurant in Huangzhou on December 7, 2005. She was incarcerated in the Huanggang City First Detention Center for seven days before being transferred to a brainwashing center in Wuhan around December 12, 2005.
Ms. Song was sent to the Huanggang Second Detention Center on October 18, 2006.
Officers in Huanggang City arrested Mr. Dai on April 9, 2008, and detained him for 15 days. Mr. Dai was transferred to the brainwashing center associated with the Huanggang Second Detention Center on April 24. Ms. Du was also taken to that brainwashing center. On May 13, 2008, agents from the Huanggang City 610 Office secretly transferred them to Wuhan Brainwashing Center.
Ms. Du was arrested and again taken to the Huanggang Second Detention Center on July 22, 2009.
