(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 19 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 22 practitioners were illegally arrested .

Ms. Wang Xueqin, Ms. Guo Shuqin, and Ms. Zhao Juan were arrested in Gongzhuling City on the morning of April 16, 2014.

2. [Maanshan City, Anhui Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Hou Bizhen and Ms. Ge Honglan from Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, were arrested in Maanshan City, Anhui Province, on April 14, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked and officers confiscated approximately 6,000 yuan, a computer, printer, cell phone, and Falun Gong books from Ms. Ge's home. Ms. Ge was released on April 5, 2014, but Ms. Hou's whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Li Wei was arrested and taken to Jilin Prison on April 15, 2014.

4. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Jinyu Detained

Ms. Li Jinyu, close to 60 years old, was arrested by officers from the Hongmeilu Police Station on the afternoon of April 14, 2014, because she bought products with paper bills that had messages about Falun Gong printed on them. She was later taken to the Minxing District Detention Center.

5. [Zaoyang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhao Shunrong's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Zhao Shunrong was recently arrested and his home ransacked by officers from the Nancheng Administrative Office and the police department. His whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Ji Shujun Arrested

Ms. Ji Shujun was arrested in Jiujiang County on December 2, 2013.

7. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhang Qiuzeng and an elderly practitioner were arrested and taken to the Domestic Security Division of Lingxi County Police Department on April 13, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The elderly practitioner was released that evening and Mr. Zhang is being held at the Lingxi County Detention Center.

8. [Tianjin] Ms. Cui Xifen Arrested

Ms. Cui Xifen was arrested at home by officers from the local police department and the Residential Committee at noon on April 15, 2014. Officers ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, printer, and a picture of Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong.

9. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yang Meijiao, Ms. Yu Lanrong, and Ms. Qin Zhen were arrested and taken to the Honghu City No. 2 Detention Center on the afternoon of April 15, 2014, in Dasha Town, Honghu City, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

10. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Meng Fanyi Transferred to Shulan City Brainwashing Center

Mr. Meng Fanyi was arrested by officers from the Jilin City Police Department on October 18, 2013. He was recently transferred to Shulan City Brainwashing Center after having been held at the Jilin City Detention Center for approximately five months.

11. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Zhao Chongan and His Wife Arrested

Mr. Zhao Chongan and his wife, Ms. Zhang Xueya, were arrested by Zhao Duofang and officers from the Chigan Town Police Station on March 21, 2014. They confiscated the couple's Falun Gong books and DVDs that contained information about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. Zhao was taken to the Liquanbeiguan Drug Rehabilitation Center that same day. Ms. Zhang had to be carried to the Wenlin Detention Center due to physical problems. She was released on March 22, 2014, but not until the detention center officials had extorted 300 yuan from her.

Because Mr. Zhao's father-in-law was in critical condition, he was released on April 4, 2014, but not until officials of at the Liquanbeiguan Center had extorted 330 yuan from him.

12. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Two Practitioners Detained

Ms. Song Shumin and Ms. Yang Xiufen were arrested on the afternoon of April 13, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held at the Xindi Detention Center.

13. [Jianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xie Dongrong Arrested

Ms. Xie Dongrong was recently arrested and taken to Erehu Brainwashing Center in Ziyang Prison for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

14. [Shanghai] Mr. Huo Junzhan Detained

Mr. Huo Junzhan, 47, was arrested in Shanghai on April 14, 2014. He is now being held at the Qingpu District Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Jianping was arrested on her way to Yuanyang County on April 7, 2014. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Wang Chuanju was arrested by police officers from the Luolong District on the morning of April 10, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

18. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Hongya Transferred to Yuzhou Detention Center

Mr. Zhang Hongya was arrested by police officers from Yuzhou City on March 28, 2014. He was transferred to the Yuzhou City Detention Center on April 3, 2014.

19. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Ma Siyuan, Ms. Huang Xiangrong, Ms. Liu Mingzhen, Ms. Tu Lijuan, Ms. Zhang Xianmo, and Ms. Ma were arrested on April 12, 2014. Officers interrogated them in a basement in Fushun City.

Ms. Tu was released because she developed high blood pressure and a heart problem due to the abuse. The remaining five practitioners are being held at the Nangou Detention Center.

Ms. Cai Suping, 52, was arrested by officers from the Huxi Police Station on April 2, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Huangdai No. 4 Detention Center. Officers confiscated her laptop, materials pertaining to the persecution of Falun Gong, and Falun Gong books.

21. [Wenan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Shi Jinshu Died as a Result of Persecution

Mr. Shi Jinshu, 66, was arrested in 2005 and 2008 for practicing Falun Gong. He was held in Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp and Tangshan Prison for more than four years. During the detention, he became mentally disoriented due to the torture and abuse. He was released and returned home.

Mr. Shi died on the morning of April 8, 2014, at home.

22. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Luo Guangzhong, Ms. Guan Yuxiang, Mr. Kuang Zhonghua, Ms. Zhou Guilan, and Ms. Xiao Luyun were arrested by local officers in early April 2014. Mr. Luo and Ms. Guan were released and the remaining three practitioners are still being held at the Qidong County Detention Center.
