Additional Persecution News from China – April 4, 2014 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 14 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 33 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Yingjie Seriously Ill in Detention Center

Ms. Xu Yingjie was arrested on December 22, 2013, and held in the Changliu Detention Center. After being tortured for an extended period, she developed severe symptoms of illness, and was then hospitalized at the Tonghua No.3 Hospital on March 4, 2014.

2. [Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Xiangqun Tortured to the Point of Becoming Mentally Disoriented

Ms. Liu Xiangqun from Chongyi Town was arrested by officers from the Chongyi Police Station in late October 2013, for talking to people about Falun Gong in public. Officers punched, kicked, and stomped on her head. Her ears were torn and bleeding. Officers also injected her with an unidentified drug. She was tortured for three hours non-stop, and then released.

Ms. Liu became mentally disoriented after her release. She left home in the early morning hours of March 10, 2014, and has been missing ever since.

3. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Jia Zhijiang and Ms. Gao Suzhen Sentenced to Prison

The Zhengding County Court sentenced Mr. Jia Zhijiang to 5-1/2 years in prison and Ms. Gao Suzhen to 4-1/2 years in prison on March 24, 2014.

4. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Mr. Hu Guangli Arrested

Mr. Hu Guangli was arrested and his home was ransacked on April 2, 2014.

5. [Hailar District, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Yang Wanming Detained

Agents from the Hailar Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office arrested Mr. Yang Wanming at his home on April 2, 2014. They ransacked the home and confiscated a computer, USB drive, and other belongings. Mr. Yang is being held in the Hailar Detention Center.

6. [Yuanshi County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Geng Xiangke, Ms. Cheng Jianghong, and Ms. Wang Yali from Nanbailou Village, Yuanshi County, Shijiazhuang City were arrested by local police on the evening of March 10, 2012, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in the Changping District of Beijing. Ms. Wang was sent to the Daxing Forced Labor Camp in Beijing. Mr. Geng's and Ms. Cheng's whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Han Yuchun Missing

Ms. Han Yuchun went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested and has not been heard from since.

8. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Chen Guoqing Arrested

Li Gang from the Mishan Police Department Domestic Security Division, along with agents from the Mudanjiang Agriculture Reclamation Management Bureau and the Beidaying Police Station, ransacked the home of Mr. Chen Guoqing, and arrested him on the evening of April 2, 2014. His whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Chen was an employee at the Peide Hospital, affiliated with the Mudanjiang Agriculture Reclamation Management Bureau. He was dismissed because he believed in Falun Gong.

9. [Shanghai] Ms. Shi Ailan Arrested

Ms. Shi Ailan from Putuo District was arrested on March 10, 2014, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Her home was also ransacked.

10. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. He Zhuojun Arrested

Ms. He Zhuojun, an employee of the Suizhou Commerce Department, was arrested at her workplace and taken to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center by agents from the 610 Office on the morning of March 30, 2014. Her home was also ransacked.

11. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ding Guizhen and Her Husband Arrested

Ms. Ding Guizhen from Dayan Village, Buzhuang Town was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Xiaying Town Police Station on March 24, 2014, for explaining the facts about Falun Gong. Her husband Mr. Yan Guangshan tried to stop the officers, but was also taken to the Xiaying Town Police Station and interrogated. The couple was released that evening.

12. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Tan Yuling Arrested

Ms. Tan Yuling, 73, was arrested at her home in Baoan Village, Baiqi Town on the morning of April 3, 2014, by agents from the Baiqi Police Station and the 610 Office, who broke into her home.

13. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Jin Fenglian, Mr. Liu Lihua, and Mr. Gu Qingbo Detained

Agents from the Fate Town Police Station and the 610 Office burst into the home of Mr. Jin Fenglian, Mr. Liu Lihua, and Mr. Gu Qingbo on the morning of April 3, 2014, and arrested them. The practitioners were taken to the brainwashing center in Shulan Bureau of Grain.

14. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Sun Bo Detained

Mr. Sun Bo was arrested by officers from the Guangzhou State Security Bureau on the morning of March 11, 2014, while working in the high school affiliated with the Huanan Normal University. He is being held in the Guangzhou No. 1 Detention Center.

15. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Lijie and Her Husband Arrested

Officers from the Xiangyang Police Department in Jiamusi City forced themselves into Ms. Liu Lijie's home on the afternoon of April 3, 2014, and arrested her and her husband Mr. Wang Xu. Ms. Liu was taken to the Xiangyang Police Department.

16. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Guan Yian, Mr. Zhao Xin, and Mr. Jia Changmin Arrested

Officers from the Xinhua Police Department arrested Mr. Guan Yian, Mr. Zhao Xin, and Mr. Jia Changmin at their homes on the evening of April 2, 2014. Their homes were also ransacked.

17. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Hu Ronghua, Ms. Sha Jinqi, and Ms. Gao Shuping Arrested

Ms. Hu Ronghua, Ms. Sha Jinqi, and Ms. Gao Shuping were arrested by officers from the Jiangan Police Station in Rugao on April 1, 2014, for speaking to people about Falun Gong.

18. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jia Guizhi Detained

Ms. Jia Guizhi from Xinqiu was arrested by officers from the Dongmen Police Station on the afternoon of April 3, 2014, for talking to people about the benefits of Falun Gong. She is being held in Xiandongsuo.

19. [Zhangshu City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Yang Sairong and Ms. Chan Jilan Detained

Ms. Yang Sairong, in her sixties, and Ms. Chan Jilan, 58, were arrested by officers from the Yongtai Police Station on the afternoon of April 2, 2014, for distributing Falun Gong materials in Yongtai Township. Officers then ransacked Ms. Yang's home. Both practitioners are being held in the Zhangshu Detention Center.

20. [Shanghai] Seven Practitioners Detained

Arrested on the afternoon of March 26, 2014, were Mr. Du Zilong, Mr. Zhu Hua, Ms. Chen Qi, Ms. Yao Guizhen, Ms. Zhou Pandi, Mr. Zhu, Ms. Han, and Ms. Zhu Qianqin from Zhoupu Town, Pudong New District.

Ms. Zhu Qianqin was released due to high blood pressure. The other seven practitioners are being held in the Zhoupu Detention Center.

21. [Yiyuan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Tang Shenyou and His Wife Arrested

Mr. Tang Shenyou and his wife Ms. Liu Xixia from Zhifang Village were arrested by agents from the Yiyuan 610 Office on April 2, 2014. Mr. Tang was released that evening. Ms. Liu is still being held.

22. [Xian City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Hua and Ms. Zhang Yucui Arrested

Ms. Li Hua, in her fifties, and Ms. Zhang Yucui, in her seventies, from Xijiao were arrested by officers from the Yanta Police Department on March 31, 2014. Their homes were then ransacked. Ms. Zhang was released that evening. Ms. Li is being held in the Xiaozhailu Police Station.

23. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Jianshe Arrested

Mr. Wang Jianshe was arrested by officers from the Hengzhou Police Station on March 19, 2014. He was held in the Hengyang County Detention Center for 15 days and then released.

Ms. Shen Xiaofeng from Nanshan District was arrested for explaining the facts to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of April 3, 2014. She is being held in the Yuehai Police Station in Nanshan District.
