Additional Persecution News from China – March 31, 2014 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 18 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Chengdu City Intermediate Court Upholds Original Illegal Judgment

Ms. Xu Yuqing, Ms. Xu Yulin, and Ms. Jiang Zhaoxiu were tried in Qingbaijiang District Court on November 29, 2013. Ms. Xu Yuqing and Ms. Jiang were each illegally sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Xu Yulin was sentenced to 13 months in prison. Ms. Xu Yuqing and Ms. Jiang immediately appealed to the Chengdu City Intermediate Court, but the court upheld the original judgment.

2. [Chenxi County, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Xiaomao and Ms. He Xiaoling Arrested

Mr. Wang Xiaomao was arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Chenyang Town. He was taken to the Chenyang Town Police Station and then transferred to the Dalukou Police Station.

Ms. He Xiaoling was arrested at home on February 26, 2014. She is now in the Chenxi County Detention Center.

3. [Shanghai] Nine Practitioners Detained

Mr. Du Zhilong, Mr. Han Lingen, Ms. Zhu Hua, Ms. Zhu Fanli, Ms. Chen Qi, Ms. Yao Guizhen, Ms. Zhu Qianqin, Ms. Zhou Pandi, and Ms. Sun Qi were reading Falun Dafa books in Mr. Du Zhilong's home on the afternoon of March 26, 2014. More then 30 police officers and members of the 610 Office broke the steel reinforced door and forced their way into Mr. Du's home. They arrested all nine practitioners and ransacked his home. They took his computer and printer. The police then searched the other eight practitioners' homes.

All nine practitioners were taken to the Pudong New District Detention Center on March 27, 2014.

4. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Elderly Ms. Bai Ruiying Detained

Ms. Bai Ruiying, in her 70s, was arrested by the Nonghuai Police Station for telling people about Falun Gong. She is now in the Huaying Detention Center.

5. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Ms. Wu Lihua and Ms. Yu Qiuying Detained

Ms. Wu Lihua and Ms. Yu Qiuying were arrested by Renmin Road Police Station officers for talking to others about Falun Gong on March 13, 2014. The police ransacked their homes. Both practitioners are being held in the Anqing No. 1 Detention Center.

6. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Lingge, Ms. Liu Chunxia, and Mr. Huang Yonghui were arrested on the afternoon of March 29, 2014. Officers from the Yunan Street Police Station searched Ms. Zhang's home and took several printers and computers. Ms. Zhang is now in the Changsha City No. 1 Detention Center. Mr. Huang was released. Ms. Liu's whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yan Hong and Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yan Hong and other practitioners were arrested by officers from the Changsha City Police Department on the afternoon of March 29, 2014. Shortly afterward, officers from the Langli Police Station ransacked her home. They took Falun Gong books, Falun Gong informational materials, and other items. Ms. Yan is being held in the Changsha City Police Department.

A female practitioner with the last name Zhou was arrested. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, and other items.

Chen Donghui from the Langli Police Station and six other officers broke into Mr. Liu Zhengwei's home on the afternoon of March 29. They searched the place and confiscated his Dafa books, Falun Gong informational materials, and a printer. The officers tried to arrest Mr. Liu, but he managed to escape. His whereabouts are unknown. The officers also ransacked the home of Mr. Liu's elder brother.

Mr. Zhang Furong was arrested by officers from the Shuyuan Road Police Station on the evening of March 29. His home was ransacked. He was taken to the Liuyang Detention Center. A female practitioner with the last name Zhang was also arrested at the same time.

8. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Hu Detained

Mr. Wang Hu was arrested on March 26, 2014, by officers from the Yingzhou Street Police Station for telling people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked his home in the Laishan District and confiscated his computer and printer among other things. He is now in the Laishan District Detention Center.

9. [Tianjin] Ms. Liu Hongqin Arrested

Ms. Liu Hongqin was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on March 21, 2014. The officers went to her home that evening and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Gong informational materials.

10. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhang Hongye and Mr. Zhang Zhende were arrested on the afternoon of March 18, 2014. The police also arrested Dang Fuqiang. The three practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Shen County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Aiping and Her Husband Arrested

Ms. Wu Aiping and her husband, Mr. Wang Jingyu, were arrested on March 29, 2014.

12. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Two Practitioners Detained

Mr. Wang Guanghui and Mr. Wang Guangyue were arrested. Both practitioners are now in the Hefei City Detention Center.

13. [Yanshi City, Henan Province] Ms. Guo Miaoxiang Arrested

Ms. Guo Miaoxiang was arrested on the afternoon of March 28, 2014, by officers from the Goushi Township Police Station for delivering Falun Gong informational materials. The police ransacked her home and took a notebook computer, Falun Dafa books, and Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. She is now in the Yanshi City Detention Center.

14. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jia Liqing Viciously Beaten in Prison

Ms. Jia Liqing, a nurse, is being held in Heilongjiang Women's Prison. In November 2013, she was held in solitary confinement. The warden and guards instigated inmates to take turns beating her.

15. [Yiyuan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yongde Remains in Custody

Mr. Li Yongde from the Qianshuibei Village, Dongli Town, was arrested on February 8, 2014. He remains in custody in Gouquan Detention Center.

16. [Chongqing] Two Practitioners' Homes Ransacked

Officers from the Jiangjin District 610 Office searched the homes of Ms. Liu Jiaqin and Ms Li Shanbi on March 25, 2014.

17. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Ping Detained

Ms. Zhang Ping, over 50, was arrested by officers from the Xinhe Police Station on the afternoon of March 28, 2014. The police ransacked her home. She is now in the Anqing City No. 1 Detention Center.
