More Falun Gong Practitioners Illegally Arrested in Junan County, Shandong Province

(Minghui.org) It has been reported that the police in Junan County, Shandong Province have recently arrested several Falun Gong practitioners.

Around 9:00 a.m. on February 19, 2014, Ms. Liu Xi'e, in her 70s from Shizilu Town, Junan County, was illegally arrested by police officer Chen Xin and two others. They broke into her house while she was reading a Falun Gong book. They searched and ransacked her place and took away all of her Falun Gong books and informational materials and destroyed her satellite dish. The officers took Ms. Liu to the Junan County Detention Center. When the detention center found that she had high blood pressure they refused to accept her. With no place to incarcerate her, the police had to take Ms. Liu home.

On January 4, 2014, Ms. Wang Cuizhi and Ms. Hou Yuna, also from Shizilu Town, were arrested by the police for clarifying the facts to people in a nearby village. Liu Xipeng, head of the Domestic Security Division, searched their homes and took away all of their Falun Gong books and other materials. Ms. Wang and Ms. Hou are currently detained at the Junan County Detention Center.

On January 16, Ms. Wang Xixia and Ms. Liu Li from Zhubian Town in Junan County were arrested while they were talking to people about Falun Gong in Heilin Town, Jiangsu Province. Liu Xipeng and staff from the 610 Office went to search their homes and confiscated all of their Falun Gong books and truth-clarification materials. Ms. Wang and Ms. Liu are still detained at the Lianyungang Detention Center in Jiangsu Province.

Towards the end of 2013, Liu Xipeng, head of the Domestic Security Division in Junan County, led several officers to search the home of Falun Gong practitioner Li Shihua. They took away all Falun Gong books and other materials.

For more than ten years, under orders of the Political and Judiciary Committee of Junan County and the 610 Office, police officers Lu Xiutian, Ma Zongtao, Xu Hengnian, Chen Xin, Liu Xipeng and others have played the bully in the local area, ruthlessly persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

According to incomplete statistics, over the past 14 years of persecution, more than 40 Falun Gong practitioners from Junan County have been sentenced to forced labor or imprisonment. At least three people have died as a direct or indirect result of persecution. Practitioners' personal belongings, valued at more than one million yuan, have been taken away by police. Countless numbers of practitioners have been subjected to harassment, threats, illegal arrest, extortion and brainwashing.
