Ms. Wang Yanqiu in Critical Condition at Jinzhou City Detention Center
(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Yanqiu was seen being carried out of the Jinzhou City Police Department hospital by two police officers on February 20, 2014.
Shi Hong, a female guard from the Jinzhou City Detention Center, called the family on February 26 to inform them that Ms. Wang is in extremely poor health. She claimed that detention center was not responsible for her condition and said that the family should talk to the court if they had any questions. The family demanded to see Ms. Wang, but Shi denied the request.
It has been reported that Ms. Wang's blood pressure is currently over 270 mmHg and that she is in critical condition.
Severe Health Problems Within a Few Months of Arrest
Ms. Wang was arrested while distributing Falun Dafa informational materials near the Jinzhou City Children's Park on July 23, 2013. She was sent to the Jinzhou City Detention Center.
By the end of November, Ms. Wang had developed severe anemia, hypertension, and a uterine tumor as a result of torture in the detention center.
Despite her condition, Guta District Court in Jinzhou City made a decision to keep her in the detention center on December 12, 2013. A month later the court sentenced her to four years in prison.
Ms. Wang filed an appeal against the unlawful sentencing which has reached Jinzhou City Middle Court. The case handler is Xiong Jie, 86-416-2526150 (Office)
